Topic: Custom Clothing mfg... Posted: 19 Jan 2007 at 3:52am |
I don't know why, but I'm skeptical if anyone will respond to this question, because I know a lot of people like to keep their souces secretive, but here goes.
I've been running a small board company for 3 years now, and as the company grows, at some point I want to get into adding a few cut and sew pieces to my apparel line such as jeans and polos shirts etc. instead of just t-shirts. Is anyone willing to direct me to a private label clothing manufacturer that will produce smaller minimums (like 400-500 pieces) that doesn't cost and arm and a leg?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Joel

The hitmen have a good idea but if your going to be producing these shirts on your own check out ebay for a press. This will allow you to say on cost and overhead in the longrun, not to mention you can change your design concepts with out upping your overhead cause at this point you already own the machine. peace out

I have owned my own denim line for the last 6 years... I had the same problems when i first started. Min quantities were so high that it would have been a real risk to take so much inventory as a new start up. Especially with seasonal changes and trends moving so fast. I ened up moving to South East Asia as a result to be close to production and in the end found several small private factories in Indonesia that do small production.t (Don't bother with China... It's still the wild west out there and your more likely to get ripped off than get what you want.) Not sure what you are looking for as far as styles and washing capabilities, but you can checkout our line at www.scarletrogue.com. These are the kinds of products that are possible here. It will take a bit of patience / trial and area but once the relationships are forged, you should be able to work with them via emails and video chats... If like what you see, i can put you in touch with a couple of good agents. Good luck.

You could also try Alstyle apparel in Anaheim ca. they have polo ask for Brad Bleick, tell him his old assistant Christina Worden sent you and you would like tier pricing. They also private label. He used to own a start up...he understands. They also sell t's...if you didnt already know that. You can stop in, and or call and get catalog sent. Start with basic, and ask for a samples. I think ragstarr actually buys from alstyle...i handled the la jolla groups. lost metal mulish, rusty and oneill and prime. let me know if you need anything else. wordrox@yahoo.com
