I was late because I feel asleep in my car outside work because I got here so early and the doors were locked.
 
I was late because my dogs chewed the cord on my alarm clock and I overslept.
 
I was late because I drank waaaaaaaaayyy too much last night didn't want to drink and drive this morning.
 
I was late because I had an interview with a much better company this morning.

I've actually used this one...but I missed work because my dog got porcupined once.  I had to stay and pull out 24 porcupine quills.  Then another time I got sent home after my dog got skunked...I came to work smelling like skunk and was told to go home.
