OFFICE BOOYZ SK8 Makes U.S. Debut at ASR San Diego this September - ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSED!  IF ATTENDING ASR, REGISTER ONSITE AT 3PM SHARP!

If you never went pro, rock full pads at the skate park, are stuck with the title “Man-Am,” or just want bragging rights around the office, your chance at fame is finally here…IT’S PAYBACK TIME!!!  OFFICE BOOYZ SK8 has arrived.

Office Booyz is a contest for people who work in the action sports industry and was created by Karl Fuhre and his friends four years ago in Vancouver, Canada.  What started out as a few friends getting together to have a snowboard competition amongst fellow “Desk Jockies,” is now a full blow international contest series.

Here's the skinny:

Who:

*** All Desk Jockeys who hold down “FULL-TIME” jobs in the action sports industry.  If retail, must be upper management!  Attention Companies: put a team/theme together for more OB points!!!

What:

Office Booyz SK8 is the non-contest, contest for all the “full-time” desk jockeys who work in the action sports industry.  Office Booyz SK8 is an “OPEN-JAM-SESSION” skate contest, so there’s no stress, anything goes and anyone can win a prize.  All you have to do is show up and skate with your peers and co-workers!

 

When:

Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, from 4 -6 p.m.  Contest starts promptly at 4 p.m.!

·         Registration: 12-3 p.m.

·         Practice / Stretching / Calisthenics: 3-4 p.m.

Where:

Action Sports Retailer Show (ASR) in San Diego, Calif.  Contest located at far back right of show next to the ASR Skate Ramp presented by SPoT.

Why:

Why not!  Come skate, meet people face to face, drink some coldies, win a prize, settle the score with friends/co-workers, and heckle the old dogs who think they still got it.  It’s that simple.

How:

Online Registration Closed!  If you’re already going to be at ASR, register onsite before 3 p.m.

 

 

Contest Divisions / Prize Categories:

Manny Master (Manual Pad):

o    At your age, you can’t have that much balance unless your ankles are connected to your calves!

Desktop Destroyer (Grind Box):

o    Goes to person who shows the desk(s), aka “ledges,” who’s the boss!

Commuter Award (Flat Bars):

o    Goes to the best rail commuter, aka “flat bar assassin”!

OB S.K.8. Champ (Game of S.K.8.):

o    Winner gets bragging rights at all OFFICE BOOYZ events – holds title until next challengers at next OB event try to still the thunder.

o    Anything goes: old school, no-complys

o    Starts with one-letter-you’re-out until only 10 OFFICE BOOYZ remain

o    Last 10 skaters get “3” letters (S.K.8.) - switches to no-complys until a winner is crowned.

Hesh to Death Award (Quarterpipes/All Around):

 

o    This goes to the OFFICE BOOY with the best tranny skills, or whoever’s the heshest skater on the course.

o    Potential Prize: beer helmet and a case of Bud OG…we’ll see!

Still…Got Pop Award (Board-Stack High Ollie Contest):

o    You may sit in an office all day, but you showed Dr. Arthritis who’s in charge!
