Founded in 1936, Kahala is the oldest operating apparel company in Hawaii, and the first brand to manufacture and wholesale aloha shirts.
We're family owned, community minded and committed to manufacturing the majority of our collection right here in Honolulu. After all, an aloha shirt made in Hawai'i means something special.
Our artwork reflects the lifestyle and vibrancy of Hawai'i, and in addition to our talented team of in-house textile designers, we also partner with guest artists on special edition prints.

As an aloha shirt company located in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, Kahala is passionate about finding its' print inspirations from the beauty surrounding us - native flora, ferns, birds, fish and of course, the ocean. This Earth Day, Kahala is proud to partner with Plastic Free Hawai'i, a program of the Kokua Hawai'i Foundation, by donating a portion of our boardshort proceeds to their foundation. Plastic Free Hawai'i is on a mission to reduce the number of single-use plastics in our environment that ultimately, end up in the ocean and destroy its' eco-systems.
