Job Description

Reporting directly to the President, the Senior Director of Global Marketing will oversee the Company’s marketing department with direct responsibility for the development and implementation of branding, messaging, and market/product development efforts. This role must communicate product and brand stories that are innovative and inspirational, deliver an exceptional customer experience and keep pace with the quickly changing trend and business growth. This position plans, directs, and manages all marketing strategies, functions, policies, objectives and initiatives including brand development, creative and advertising, PR, social media, partnerships, digital marketing, managing partnerships, B2B marketing, direct to consumer marketing, team management, tradeshows, product marketing, internal communications and social responsibility initiatives for all business units. The Senior Director of Global Marketing will be charged with effectively managing and building reciprocal relationships with new and existing industry partners, organizations, and other key stakeholders. In facilitating integrated marketing strategies and tactics, the Senior Director of Global Marketing will be responsible for managing the day-to-day marketing operations, with a heavy focus on digital marketing.
Essential Responsibilities:
Plans, controls, and directs activities of the marketing team in an effort to define and service the needs of retailers, distributors, manufactures, national accounts and online direct sales.
Ability to identify, prioritize, and develop new marketing strategies to obtain maximum sales volume and profitability by gaining buy in with key owners, establishing clear KPI and deliverables and encompassing all aspects of customer touch points.
Review, develops and leads a high-performance, professional marketing organization with clear accountability for delivering results. Also responsible for Managing 3rd party vendors as needed to help support business needs.
Maintains thorough and complete understanding of market and product knowledge by interfacing with product department, partners, and industry leaders. Maintains a solid understanding of product capabilities by comparative analysis to competitive products.
Develop a close working relationship and an integrated process with product development effectively identifying and communicating market needs and trends, product opportunities and gaps, and competitive weaknesses as needed.
Oversees and manages the Company’s marketing team to develop appropriate marketing and advertising strategies for all brands (e.g. market research, advertising, promotion, retail marketing, tradeshows, creative, digital marketing, event marketing, team management, etc.) and identifies key marketing outlets and competitive strategies.
Oversee and Capitalize on digital marketing initiatives e-commerce marketing, database initiatives, email, social media and display advertising campaigns, work with direct reports responsible for day to day creative execution and leverage the latest technologies to improve upon the brand. Show a strong understanding and experience in marketing technology, including digital marketing and marketing automation.
Develops and maintains a multi-year product marketing plan (GTM) that is appropriately integrated and prioritized with the sales plans. Works with internal sales teams to bring this to fruition.
Develop Seasonal SMU & Collaboration requests. Build and maintain relationships with prospective and current collaborators by coordinating this relationship with Sole Technology teams and executing marketing initiatives to completion.
Oversee the development, production, launch and maintenance of multiple catalogs.
Lead the creative design team to create leading edge, best-in-the-world brand communications that deliver upon the vision for the business.
Develop and execute dynamic campaigns that drive growth for all target segments. Guide development of all relevant marketing content including product promotion, team presentations, engaging presentations, video production, blog posts, and social media to highlight the company’s unique value.
Drive user/consumer research by leading in-depth consumer understanding efforts, with both qualitative and quantitative components.
Develop and mentor the staff, ensuring they continue to gain skills and experience in preparation for larger roles. Promote a culture of collaboration and customer focus. Responsibility for talent management and retention of marketing staff.
Assess the team and the processes among the various functions. Identify gaps and areas for improvement and develop a strategy to enhance the organization’s performance.

Job Requirements

Required Education & Experience:
• BA/BS Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business or related field
• A minimum of 6+ years marketing experience in youth consumer product driven company with a focus on footwear and apparel. Experience in the branding sector preferred. Experience with global partner co-branded marketing a plus. Experience in action sports industry preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in consumer and/or B2B branding and marketing.
• 5+ years of progressive brand management experience in a fast-paced global environment.
• Experience in strategic planning and collaboration with executive, sales, product development and key operational groups
• Highly analytical with experience acting on consumer, industry and market insights.
• Experience with, strong understanding of trends in the retail market, direct to consumer behavior and purchasing, ecommerce and brand storytelling.
• Proven record of leadership and managing a marketing organization with global responsibility and establishing long term strategic growth initiatives
• Proven success and track record as an individual contributor and manager who has grown top line results.
• Strategic and efficient with marketing allocation achieving high level ROI.
• Hands-on experience managing a brand across multiple lines of business and developing engaging brand building programs for both consumers and partners.
