Youth lifestyle and action sports brand located in Orange County is looking for an art director to join its marketing team. The art director will play a lead role in concepting and executing brand storytelling, photography, videography, layout and design, while working alongside the marketing team to elevate the brand through visually impactful designs. The art director will work in collaboration with the marketing manager to create meaningful visual content that deepens existing customers understanding of the brand and reaches new customers in an impactful way.
This candidate should possess a dynamic portfolio that includes a variety of photo art direction, graphic design, and brand development work that showcases how concepts have been executed on and how design challenges have been met. Utmost attention to detail is key, and the candidate’s body of work should exhibit great creativity in addition to experience working to grow a brand’s visual identity.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Drive visual ideas, concepts and campaigns within the marketing team
• Lead the development and execution of visual assets which include but is not limited to: brand campaigns, newsletters, stationery, signage, web collateral, social collateral and packaging
• Maintain any day-to-day delegations of work alongside a graphic designer
• Act as direct report for graphic designer
• Work to continuously advance all brand and consumer visual touch points, through creation of new materials and refinement of current brand collateral
• Lead on-model and product photography initiatives
• Work with brand ambassadors
• Drive and implement the creative strategy for digital assets; specifically directing UX creative with web team
• Work alongside a marketing and e-commerce team to create impactful work with clear purpose and goal
• Lead on the development of visual assets which include but is not limited to: brand campaigns, print and digital advertising, newsletters, catalogs, POP/signage, web collateral, social collateral and packaging
• Work with printers and outside vendors to ensure the highest quality, from proof approval to final press check
• Manage the creative calendar as it relates to the global Go-To-Market plan
• Maintain fiscal responsibility with regards to campaign production budgets
• Manage creative services platforms and work flow platforms
• Build brand guidelines, brand identity packages and story boards for campaigns
• Ability to create motion graphics and animation a plus.
