The Breakdown:

Burton is seeking a dynamic Buyer to join the Americas Merchandising Team. Working closely with the Merchandising Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end product life cycle management. This includes strategizing omni channel product assortments, building SKU level forecasts and buys, and identifying opportunities to optimize our inventory position while ensuring alignment with our financial goals and strategic business objectives. This role requires a candidate who has Softgoods or Hardgoods buying experience as well as a passion for product and the outdoors.

What You Get to Do:

! Strategize and manage product assortments for all North American channels, ensuring a premium product presentation aligning to regional market needs and strategic business objectives.

! Build a detailed, bottoms up store-level plan for Burton's omni and brick and mortar business. This strategy will include a continual assortment plan that highlights floor refreshes and/or focal area changes. The Buyer will work closely with our Retail Merchandising Allocator to manage and adjust this plan throughout the selling season.

! Responsible for buying and forecasting for our Digital, Retail, and Wholesale channels. The buy will be reflective of current selling trends, market feedback, segmentation plan, and strategic direction and it will align to financial goals.

! Work cross functionally with regional and global stakeholders in Merchandising, Consumer Direct (Digital, Retail, Growth Marketing), Finance, and Territories to ensure alignment at a detailed level.

! As a Buyer, you will own revenue, margin, and inventory performance goals for your categories. You will work with our Senior Planner to review Open to Buy performance. You will utilize sales, sell through rates, inventory turn, GMROI, and margin to identify opportunities to maximize sales, optimize inventory and to inform your detailed plans throughout the selling season.

! Build and manage size curves to ensure that we can sustain sales throughout the season and reduce broken size runs.

! Manage the forecast and buying models across all channels.

! Coordinate regional pricing process and suggest changes for market alignment.

! Have a pulse on the competitive landscape for relative buying categories to understand product structures, industry trends, and marketplace pricing.

! Support the Merchandising Managers to build sample orders that are reflective of our regional product and marketing strategy. The sample order is a small, curated well merchandised assortment that best represents our product offering for the upcoming season.
