The Breakdown: The Paid Media Strategist is a core position on the newly developed Performance Marketing Team within Global Consumer Marketing. This new team consists of Paid Media, Search and Retention Marketing and is responsible for setting the strategic direction of our acquisition and retention marketing efforts to achieve targets and overall business objectives. The Paid Media Strategist will develop and champion their global strategies through training, standardization, general knowledge and best practice sharing across Burton. What You Get To Do:
⏵ Forge strong working relationships with business leaders, regional teams and agencies to develop media strategies
⏵ Train regional teams on internal procedures, best practices and tools
⏵ Monitor the industry for new trends and buying strategies and solicit new concepts and tools that will help grow and enhance our business
⏵ Set global strategy for digital audience targeting and segmentation by channel outlet, identifying key customer segments
⏵ Lead the development of a global Influencer Marketing Program
⏵ Analyze and develop actionable insights from campaign key metrics and make recommendations to the regions
⏵ Work with the regions to identify strategies across multiple channels (display, social, video, OOH, print) to hit targets and business objectives
⏵ Partner with Global Data & Analytics to develop standardized weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting
⏵ Work with regions to continuously measure and optimize campaign performance while also establishing benchmarks and recommending future tests
⏵ Partner with DTC and other key regional stakeholders to develop forecasts and projections for spending, revenue, and ROI
⏵ Drive continuous improvement through implementation of new and creative ideas; develop a robust test and learn plan
⏵ Work with Customer Insights Team on consumer, competitor, and market conditions to influence future media strategies
⏵ Help develop social & content strategies in partnership with the Global Social & Content Manager What You'll Bring:
⏵ 5 years of business experience at a respected media agency or within a marketing team of a recognized brand.
⏵ Strong ability to build and analyze audiences
⏵ Primary background in digital paid media, display, social, retargeting, online video
⏵ Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, tactics, analytics, and reporting
⏵ Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, fostering the ability to deal with internal and external business partners in all levels of an organization
⏵ Working knowledge of Google Analytics and/or other analytics platforms
⏵ Experience working with CRM data to inform and affect marketing campaigns
⏵ Experience using Facebook Business Manager, Google Ad Manager and Criteo
⏵ Prior experience in performance marketing and DTC / eComm environments
⏵ Traditional media buying experience a plus
⏵ Proven leadership ability
⏵ Strategic thinking ability with balanced analytical and creative approach to tactical planning
