The Merchandising team understands regional needs, customer behavior, trends and market competition and uses it to create the right product mix for marketplaces around the world.

What You Get to Do:

As our Softgoods Associate Merchandising Planner on the Merchandising Team, you will support multi-season product planning by analyzing product data, facilitating Customer Insights and communicating softgoods strategies to global cross functional partners.

A big part of Product Merchandising at Burton softgoods is internal stakeholder-management. In this role, you will create common ownership through conceptualizing and vetting category strategies with your cross functional partners through our Concept to Market process, by evaluating the business, and your ability to sell and communicate your ideas to your supervisor, peers and across the organization.

Internal Process & Stakeholder Management:

Work closely with Product Planner and Merchandisers to plan seasonal and long-term product offerings.

Collaborate with cross functional partners like Regional teams, Marketing, Customer Insights, Advanced Development, Finance, Ops, Softgoods Creative and Development to plan, set and execute on multi-seasonal product lines.

Manage and adhere to, key milestones in the calendar with your cross functional partners, as well as manage and communicate changes as they inevitably come up throughout the season.

Analyze and Inform:

Help foster a data driven culture that is anchored in reporting and consistency.

Provide data analysis and trends from regional forecasts, sell-in and sell-through data throughout the seasonal calendar to help set multi-season strategies and support the team in critical decision making.

Leverage data to help plan seasonal style counts to foster better and more predictable SKU and Style efficiency based on Financial rollups and Operational efficiencies.

Build out and maintain a cross-category financial planning tool.

Conduct ad-hoc analysis in support of merchandising direction.

Align product strategies and initiatives with company goals and communicating them out with global cross-functional teams.

Work with Customer Insights team to dive deeper into understanding our customer with the ability to see regional nuances in our global market.

Generate assets to foster communication of Softgoods's initiatives and strategies with key stakeholders from seasonal kick off to sell-in.

Ensure regional category merchandising plans align with their respective financial plan and align to company goals.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

Your Character:

Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to details.

Demonstrate strategic thinking and possess an inquisitive mind.

Self-motivated with the ability to work within a team, as well as independently and proactively.

Master communicator and team player, with empathy, that is nice but honest, makes shit happen, delivers accurately and on time.

Your Skillset:

A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or another appropriate field.

Or 1-3 years of experience in data analysis, planning or merchandising.

Strong presentation skills to all levels of Management.

Experience with analyzing data, seeing data trends and formulating plans.

Experience in retail sales analysis and interpretation of data to identify opportunities.

Interest in joining a team to plan and build innovative products to strengthen the brand, connect with our customers and help grow the business.

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

Expertise in Microsoft Excel, BI, SAP and PLM and large data management.

Knowledge of Powerpoint and Adobe Illustrator.

An ability to sit, stand and work on a computer for long periods of time, work in a sometimes-noisy environment, and see color.

Your personality - calm, collected, agile, with the ability pivot when change happens.

Perform other duties as assigned.
