Manager, Global Product Marketing Strategy, Skate and BMX: Become the Newest Member of the Vans Family
Vans is the international icon of creative expression in action sports and youth culture. As you undertake this global leadership role among the Vans family, you will be responsible for global demand creation by partnering with cross-functional global counterparts to seasonally identify and drive alignment around key stories that balance brand-building and commercial excellence. You will manage all aspects of sport-specific global product marketing plans and strategies and provide guidance against regional execution and coordination of plans in partnership with regional marketing teams. This position is responsible for leveraging consumer insights to guide consumer-centric product launch strategy and key product message development within the Integrated Marketing process that will differentiate Vans with world-class product storytelling experiences and activations that inspire and enable creative expression in our consumer, driving Vans global leadership across Skate and BMX.
How You Will Make a Difference:
Work closely with cross-functional category leadership, Athlete Management and global marketing counterparts to create a high level of collaboration and shared vision in elevating key products and messages, ensuring category business needs are met for consumers across all regions.
Lead strategic marketing development across Creative Services, Environmental Design, DTC and Consumer Marketing teams from initial briefs through global asset delivery.
Present plans and maintain alignment with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver on our promises.
Understand consumer needs, identify market opportunities, define the vision and lead the team to deliver creative that amazes and delights our Skate and BMX communities.
Partner with global product leadership and brand marketing to determine global key stories, strategic initiatives and launch dates, ensuring alignment and consistent execution of plans.
Partner closely with Athlete Management to identify opportunities and leverage team in delivering key messages within product campaigns, while managing prioritization and trade-offs among athlete endorsers to maintain a healthy and trusting relationship between our company and our athletes.
Provide global reach budget guidance in order to allocate our finances effectively.
Skills for Success:
Years of Related Professional Experience: 5+ years professional Action Sports industry experience required
Educational/ Position Requirements:
Bachelors Degree/BA or equivalent from four-year college or University - or four years related marketing leadership experience and/or training - or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working in the Action Sports industry and extensive knowledge of the Action Sports retail space
Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners (i.e. multiple athletes)
Proficient computer skills, video and camera skills helpful. Photoshop a plus.
Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
Travel by air and overnight, as required 25% amount of time.
Ability to be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary
Bend, lift, open and move product and related office items varying in weight from 1 to 25lbs, depending on need
