Director Strategic Agility: Become the Newest Member of the Vans Family As the Director Strategic Agility, you are a senior strategic business leader who can easily and accurately identify key white space opportunities to drive long-term business performance for Vans. Youll be responsible for end to end contributions to this effort: from identifying opportunities through working with teams to define strategy, through supporting execution. To be successful, you must bring strategic thinking and industry experience and insights to bear in leading senior level, cross functional teams. You have deep retail and/or CPG experience. You strive when managing entire processes- from problem identification and definition, through project planning, to team management which including analytics. You feel connectivity to our skate heritage and are driven to continue expanding our global business through enabling creative self-expression with youth culture. How You Will Make a Difference: • Identification of key issues that have the power to drive long-term business performance for Vans. • Oversight for the prioritization of issues and business challenges leveraging a centralized, top-down approach. • Creating, sharing and influencing a powerful vision for change. • Enacting structured approaches to defining and solving problems from identification through to action planning and implementation. • Leading and performing industry and situation analysis, with strong analytical support. • Applying deep industry expertise to a diverse set of problems. • Dealing with ambiguity in quickly evolving work situations. • Enable the ability to respond to issues and business challenges quickly and powerfully through leadership of senior level cross-functional strategic short-term agile working teams. • Champion Strategic Agility efforts and teams to ensure these are viewed as a prestigious, career-enhancing experiences that directly impact the future of the Vans Brand. Skills for Success: Years of Related Professional Experience: 10+ years Educational/ Position Requirements: • A Masters degree and/or MBA and a minimum of 5+ years general management experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. • Experience working in the consumer goods and/or retail industry with branded retail experience. Experience in the consulting industry a plus. • Superior market knowledge. • Exceptional strategic thinker • to lead through influence and work with counterparts across the organization to create synergy, effectiveness, and provide strategies that are complimentary to brand objectives. • leadership skills including interpersonal, communication, team building and problem solving ability. • Keen ability to lead and navigate change. Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements: • Travel by air and overnight, as required 10% amount of time.
