Associate Merchandiser- Womens & Girls Apparel: Become the Newest Member of the Vans Family As an Associate Merchandiser at Vans, you will be assisting the Senior merchandiser for the global womens apparel business with product line management and seasonal direction. You will gather financials and competitor insight seasonally. We are inspired by an individual who can be a partner to all cross-functional teams; understand the Vans consumer and work in a fast-paced environment. You will support the senior merchandiser with global briefs through gathering financials, regional information and providing competitor insight. This role will attend and participate in product line reviews and study the market with a focused approach on consumer, product trends, and new opportunities. We cannot wait to see you bring your creative approach to design to produce the most effective brand strategy for our company! How You Will Make a Difference: Gather financials, competitor insight, line plans, and target wholesales each season from our global partners in order to develop global merchandising brief. Rank styles based on historical and current product performance and identify redundancies in the product assortment. Actively research and observe the competition and trend on designs Maintain line plan and ensure accuracy throughout the season. Partner with design and development team to source, develop new fabrications. Attend fittings and review product details to ensure product execution meets the design aesthetic as well as quality standards. Maintain line plan and ensure accuracy throughout the season. Adhere to the all calendar process and prepare for key meetings. Skills for Success: Years of Related Professional Experience: 1-3 years Educational/ Position Requirements: • Bachelors degree required preferably in Merchandising, Product Development, or Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of merchandising experience in the apparel industry and training that provides required knowledge, skills and abilities • Understands and embraces industry, consumer, and culture • Strong knowledge with Microsoft Office, including; Outlook Excel PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and PLM experience a plus • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills • Ability to multitask and follow through with all tasks, assignments and job duties in a timely manner • Maintain a cooperative team environment that promotes high performance standards and attainment of goals • Ability to work in an open environment with product team and cross-functional partners Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements: • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% • Ability to be flexible with extended work hours, as necessary • Bend, lift, open and move product and related office items varying in weight from 1 to 25 lbs, depending on need.
