Market Manager: Become the Newest Member of the Vans Family

Under the direction and partnership of their District Manager, the Market Manger exercises practical judgment and discretion in the support and execution of strategies to drive the entire markets business. As the Market Manager, you motivate and inspire store teams to provide excellence in merchandising presentation, customer experience, and operational execution. You are responsible for providing the leadership and direction to each Store Manager and store team within the Market to create an environment and atmosphere that ensures customer satisfaction, maximum productivity and profitability by translating and implementing company and brand developed business plans and strategies. You oversee and ensure profitable operations of approximately 4-6 stores within the U.S. market, including service, sales, stock levels, and expense management. You are responsible for assisting with the creation and development of individual store business plans within their market while also ensuring that store leadership is properly training their staff to meet expectations set by the Direct to Consumer division and enforces company policy and procedure.

How You Will Move the Needle:
! Hire, train, and develops store leadership team ensuring recruitment from a diverse applicant pool. Monitor and approve all hiring plans for all stores in the market with the partnership of the District Manager. Ensure that stores achieve optimal staffing levels and provide a quality on-boarding experience for all employees.
! Your diverse experiences and background enable you to provide a unique perspective to fuel our global growth. Additionally, you are inclusive and value differing points of view. You hire, develop and support a team that reflects our global consumer population.
! Assess the effectiveness of Store Managers and store leadership team by providing the appropriate level of performance feedback. Create development and training plans for Store Managers and as needed, other store leadership team members. Develop and strategizes succession plans for store leadership positions. Accountable for Performance Appraisal process for all store teams. With the support and guidance of the District Manager, manage and execute the Performance Appraisal process for all store teams within assigned market.
! Analyze market reports to identify ways to leverage opportunities to maximize sales. In partnership with the District Manager, evaluate store sales and payroll goals daily using key business reports and payroll tools. Monitor and measure financial, operational, human resources, and customer service results, and hold teams accountable for achieving goals through ongoing store visits. With partnership of the District Manager, monitor and ensure stores meet payroll and expense budgets and for brand appropriate strategic merchandising execution to maximize sales.
! Ensure compliance and adherence to policies and procedures, standards and practices, and company directives. Protect company assets. Ensure compliance with company security and shrink avoidance policies and programs. Partner with Regional Loss Prevention Manager to identify trends and translate regional strategy into action to meet market and district shrink goals.
! Ensure excellence in customer service in all stores by modeling Vans' service standards as well as by monitoring customer feedback and responding to and addressing all customer concerns quickly. Responsible for the resolution of any escalated customer situation in the market. Leads and inspires customer centric culture by recognizing and rewarding teams.
! In partnership with the District Manager, address challenges such as sales, leadership issues, profitability, staff management and competitive concerns. Resolves escalated employee relations, performance, and service issues in partnership with the District Manager, Regional Director, and Human Resources Manager. Act as a liaison between field operations and corporate office partners and takes on additional special projects assigned by District Manager and Regional Director.
! Promote an environment that encourages participation, creativity, and learning by sharing best practices and building on the ideas of others within the market.

! Proven ability to grow and leverage relationships at all levels: peers, corporate partners, and other functional business relationships.
! Proven ability to effectively manage multiple task at one time, with a high level of exceptional time management.
! Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; will work weekends, nights, and holidays.

Position Requirements:
! Minimum 3 years of Store Manager experience and at least 18 months as a Vans Store Manager.
! Relocatable within the USA for the Market Manager role and subsequent opportunities.
! Previous or current ALPS member preferred but not required.
! Completed VF Internal Transfer form submitted to Recruiting with application.
