Global Digital Brand Communications Director

At Vans, every conversation we have with our consumers is a meaningful representation of our purpose to enable creative expression. The primary vehicle to reach and engage our consumers is through Social Media and this role will bring to life an expert Social Media strategy and digital first experiences to build brand love. In this role you will partner with Global Marketing and Creative to bring our brand stories to life through a digital consumer journey that is informed by consumer behavior, data and reporting, and social media platform insights. You will lead an expert team is managing thoughtful Paid Media strategy and Consumer Communications through our primary social media platforms.

How You Will Make a Difference

What you will do:
! Oversee partnership and integration of paid media and social media functions to develop a consumer centric digital communication strategy
! Builds partnerships with major global social media platforms and digital titans on behalf of the brand streamlining our priority platforms and outline new platform opportunities
! Lead branded content strategies that are executed around the world by creating audience first opportunity by platform and elevating our content briefs with audience behavioral insights
! Using a deep knowledge of marketing analytics, you will conduct data analysis in partnership with Marketing GTM Activation to understand the performance of our platform specific KPIs to optimize our marketing campaigns and creative in real time

How you will do it:
! Work alongside interactive marketing and creative counterparts to develop skill sets for expert digital strategies across Vans brand pillars
! Select and brief agencies while nurturing a successful partnership to support social programming and paid strategy on digital titan social media platforms
! Focus on the talent development of Communications team and upskill peers with digital knowledge

What success looks like:
! Development of seasonal Consumer Journey Maps of digital communications tactics for targeted audience segments
! Creation of global reporting dashboard for KPI assessment and marketing optimization
! Implementation of Social Media platform approaches into go to market process

Skills for Success

Years of Related Professional Experience: 10+ years

Educational Position Requirements:

A formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
! What we expect you already know:! Experience and/or training preferably in youth marketing, fashion, and/or action sports marketing in the digital space.
! Must have passion for and deep understanding of all things digital, especially social media platforms and mobile.
! Must be able to plan and optimize digital communications strategy through data insights.
! Working knowledge of platforms including YouTube, WeChat, Facebook/Instagram, TikTok, and new emerging platforms

! What we will teach you:! How to work with a cross-departmental variety of stakeholders to achieve a common goal
! Partner with VF to establish global consumer minded KPIs for digital reporting, and works with Brand Communications team globally and regionally on report templates and frameworks
! How to develop a digital communications strategy that is informed by regional nuances and needs for global consistency and local relevancy
