Boardriders Inc is in search of an SMU Product Manager to join the team in Huntington Beach, CA.

Boardriders, Inc. is a leading action sports company. Through its brands Quiksilver, Roxy and DC Shoes, the Company designs and produces a broad line of apparel, footwear and technical equipment for Boardriders around the world.

POSITION SUMMARY //
The SMU Product Manager's core duty is to work with designers and production/sourcing staff to build line plans and develop distinct, compelling, commercially viable, and consumer relevant product. While creating the right product to meet brand sales and margin targets is the core responsibility of the job, the SMU Product Manager will be a member of a small entrepreneurial team and will be asked to bring market savvy and enthusiasm to the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES //
• Help to build and execute a product strategy that fits with brand sales and marketing plans and supports corporate objectives
• Managing product information input within product management systems
• Assist the Regional Merchandiser with the PLMA data entry as well as the SMU data entry in Success Factors and PLMA.
• Actively research and observe the competition’s design, pricing, and marketing and maintain a keen awareness of trends – responsible for creating product lines that are the most compelling and relevant in their target markets
• Work with sourcing and production to ensure that costs meet brand financial and sales targets – responsible for product margin
• Work with cross-functional departments to make sure all timelines and deadlines are met
• Interact with the product managers– responsible for providing reports and analysis that support sales goals
• Support the product managers at meetings by providing key product knowledge, product overview and account history
• Responsible for end-to-end execution of SMU product requests that are in line with Corporate SMU strategy and meet defined targets and guardrails
• Optimizes global sharing or existing SMU development and must meet defined global sharing target
• Develops global COE briefs
• Facilitates all regional SMU development for regionally developed styles
• Works with local design / graphic teams for all regionally developed styles (i.e.: Regional Tshirts)
• Owns the review of initial design and presentation back to Sales

Job Requirements

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EDUCATION //
• BA Degree, preferably in Product Management
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Knowledge of Product Line & Data Management (PLM / PDM/ AS400) software
• Excellent organizational & communication skills: detail-oriented with the ability prioritize amongst multiple projects
• Strong sense of product, color and trends relevant to the surf/action sports market and customer
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS //
• Knowledge of apparel manufacturing process and overseas production
• Prior action sports experience, or affinity with boardriding
• Previous experience with Salesforce
