Quiksilver is in search of a Regional Merchandiser to join the team in Huntington Beach, CA.

SUMMARY
The Apparel Regional Merchandiser plays a crucial role in the conception and merchandising of the Americas DC Apparel seasonal offering. If you’ve ever felt the need to organize your closet to only have the newest trends, or to prep kits for your best friends, this may be the role for you. As the Apparel Regional Merchandiser, you’ll be responsible for creating a trend relevant, seasonal assortment, for wholesale, retail and ecom channels and cultivating the seasonal strategy with all cross-functional departments. This position is based out of Huntington Beach, California.

RESPONSIBILITIES //

1.) Seasonal Strategy
• Owns the regional hindsight meeting
• Identifies regional wins & opportunities
• Partners with marketing on development of promotions at the regional level
• Partners with marketing on regional must win products and key stories
• Partners with Sales to ensure breathe of product offering aligns with sales plans and strategies
• Ensure category level sales and margin targets, set by Brand Head of Product, are met by the regional line plan
• Develops regional line strategy to meet category level style and material counts, globalization targets and regional MOQ for global styles based on recommended targets from global merchandise planning
• Defines regional SMU needs supported by analytics provided by regional merchandise planning
• Incorporates channel strategies defined by Brand Mgr& Brand Head of Product for wholesale, retail & e-commerce into regional line plan strategy
• Provides input to the overall trend direction including colors, print, fabric, and trim
• Attends the Creative Kick-Off and provides input at the start of the seasonal creation

2.) Pre-Season:Line Building
• Builds the regional line plan based on aligned strategies and targets established during the seasonal strategy process
• Presents regional insights: critical market intel, trend and feedback from wholesale sales, retail team and marketing
• Utilizes updated costing to review and take action on overall assortment margin
• Owns building retail product assortment by store group and segmentation
• Manages SMS sampling within the region; reviews SMS push & associated timelines
• Provides feedback on marketing assets and development & oversees line guide approval Pre-Season:Design &

3.) Development
• Briefs all regional needs into the Global COE Design team
• Provides feedback at key meetings including the Final Sketch Review on select styles
• Supports requests for design changes/ adds/ drops with financial and market knowledge
• Presents regional assortment to the regional teams at key milestone meetings
• Owns style adoption process during Line Adoption for all regional &SMU styles as well as specific regional needs for retail
• Presents creative direction and key stories at regional Sales Meetings; soliciting feedback

4.) Buy Execution:
• Updates regional projections by channel after sales mtg & rep order entry deadlines
• Manages projections for long lead time materials, production and capacity planning
• Reviews and approves final style level margins for regional styles and SMUs
• Ensures regional projections are placed on time at each calendar milestone
• Partners with Planning to ensure regional buys are placed on time In-Season:
• Leads a weekly cross functional meeting to review weekly, monthly, seasonal and annual performance across all key KPIs by channel for the region in which they reside
• Review KPIs and metrics on weekly, monthly, seasonal and annual results for concurrent seasons across both sell-in and sell-out periods
• Partners with Sales to monitor wholesale sell-through data
• Partners with channel leaders to ensure all seasonal marketing events and promotions are properly executed across channels in the region in which they reside
• Partners with global Product Management on chase and fast track product development needs by channel in the region in which they reside

Job Requirements

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS //
• 5 – 7 years of professional experience in the apparel/fashion/retail industry; at least 2 of which spent in a similar role
• Understanding of the Action Sports, Skate and Streetwear lifestyle industry a plus
• Proven oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Must understand wholesale MAP
• Strong understanding of direct-to-consumer strategy (retail and e-commerce)
• Professional experience using Microsoft Office Suite; strong Excel skills
• Experience using Illustrator highly preferred
• Detail oriented, problem solver, multi-tasker, proven time-management skills
• Must own reliable transportation and have valid car insurance
• Willing and able to travel up to 15% globally; 15% locally

EDUCATION // Bachelor’s degree, or applicable certification or equivalent experience in merchandising.
