SUMMARY //
DC is looking for a diversely talented and broadly experienced Creative Director to lead our internal creative team, which services Global Marketing across all channels and regions. This critical role will convert brand strategies and category-marketing briefs into integrated campaigns, compelling content, and creative assets. The CD will lead our talented Design, Video, Photography, and Copywriting teams to create cohesive stories and innovative concepts that protect our DNA, enrich our visual language, and amplify our brand experience across consumer touch-points. In addition to high-level creativity, we are looking for a driven, entrepreneurial executor who knows how to motivate teams, manage projects, and hit deadlines. The ideal candidate will have experience in a broad spectrum of creative sensibilities, including campaign development, experiential design, storytelling, film production, and branding. As such, we are looking for someone who can lead by example and is equipped with compelling toolkit of personal capabilities. This position is central to the DC Global Marketing team and will require excellent time management and communication skills to effectively pitch and develop concepts in line with multi-category, multi-season, multi-channel needs. The CD will work directly with our “Universe” marketing leaders to craft effective seasonal stories, product marketing concepts, and innovative tactics. Similarly, the CD will work directly with our Operations, Marketplace, and Digital marketing leaders to ensure we are efficient, effective, and progressive in optimizing our brand experience with consumers. This is a commercial enterprise and we need a Creative Director with left-brain and right-brain balance, who understands the demands of a nimble, fast-paced, product-driven business.

RESPONSIBILITIES //
• Maintain creative excellence and brand cohesion across disciplines, including art, branding, design, copy, photo, and video
• Develop integrated brand, category, and product-marketing campaigns in line with seasonal and long-range strategies
• Drive innovation in the creative process to ensure constant improvement in our ability to be efficient and effective in our asset development
• Partner with our Digital Marketing Director and Digital Factory leads to ensure that our website, email, and digital marketing experience reflects our creative intention and desired brand experience
• Partner with our Marketplace Director to ensure that our brand experience across wholesale and DTC retail is compelling and consistent
• Develop, socialize, and maintain global brand standards in identity, retail experience, photography, typography, and voice. Develop and refresh the brand creative guidelines bible.
• Build and motivate a world class creative team to reach their full potential with clear job descriptions, empowerment, and accountability
• Lead creative direction across all aspects of the brand including: advertising, retail/POS, content development, digital and online, product/graphics (where applicable), industry (tradeshows, etc.), sales support, etc.
• Collaborate with Brand Leader, Head of Global Marketing, Head of Global Product, Product Design Director, Category Marketing Leads, and entire brand team to deliver work that is globally relevant, on-strategy, on-budget and on-time that moves the needle
• Proactively collaborate with all cross functional departments throughout the company including merchandise & design, sales and marketing
• Effectively delegate and manage people and resources connected to each project
• Pro-actively Identify problems with projects or within project/team and offer solutions
• Work within the constraints of each individual project’s deadline and budget
• Utilize external resources when necessary and approved to achieve the best overall results for any individual campaign and or project
• Define brand "look and feel" and tone of voice
• Manage art direction and content direction team
• Contribute to marketing strategy (e.g., concrete story themes/visualization concepts)
• Consider and manage sensitivity toward regional needs, customs, beliefs and translation issues
• Lead communication with other departments to ensure adequate understanding of brand image

Job Requirements

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EDUCATION //
• 12+ years’ experience working in art direction, graphic design, copywriting, or a related creative field
• 4+ years’ experience leading a cross-discipline creative team
• Understand Art Direction and ability to both produce and direct photo shoots
• Deep knowledge of Brands and Branding
• Proficiency across the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office tools
• Experience guiding projects from concept to consumer and orchestrating creative direction across multiple channels of communication
• Great understanding of marketing and trends, especially in fashion/core sports market
• Experience working with media partners to develop native content franchises in line with brand strategy
• Experience briefing external freelancers and agencies to supplement internal bandwidth or expertise limitations
• Experience developing consumer experiences for retail, pop-up, tradeshow, or event
• Finger-on-pulse awareness of emerging creative solutions, technologies, and visual trends
• Demonstrated ability as an individual thinker and collaborative team player
• Creativity skills developed during a previous experience as designer, copywriter or art director
• Ability to make decisions in a time-constrained environment
• Outstanding communication skills
• Strong ability to understand multi-channel marketing strategies
• Analytical skills to be able to analyze the latest trends in the industry
