Job Description

The Ecommerce Merchandise Planner is responsible for developing, executing and communicating the merchandise financial strategies for all La Jolla Group brands’ e-commerce properties.

GOALS
• Provide financial roadmaps for Buyer to make sound merchandising decisions
• Provide assortment level plans for buyers driven by historical performance and opportunistic strategies
• Work with wholesale and retail teams to maximize inventory and margin opportunities across channels

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create and communicate seasonal merchandise financial plans at category level in accordance with the company goals, historical performance and trends
• Forecast sales, margin and inventory at a category level based on changes in sales trends and strategies
• Partner with cross functional teams on delivering a comprehensive hindsight to develop go forward product and inventory strategies for all La Jolla Group supported brands
• Collaborate with Merchant and Sales teams to develop and communicate comprehensive pre-season strategies that align to financial and product opportunities based on historical performance and market trends across multiple categories and brands
• Measure and communicate weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales, margin and inventory performance down to the category and/or style/key program level. Through this assessment, identify risks and opportunities across multiple brands
• Strategize, recommend, execute, and recap in-season pricing strategies – including seasonal markdowns and promotions

PEOPLE APTITUDE

• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and appropriately
• Create and incubate partnerships across all functions
• Ensure open lines of communication and synergy within the critical departments within the company
• Ability to work in a fast paced work environment utilizing key business partners

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Computer skills: Outlook and Word with advance use of Excel required
• Understanding of cross-functional dependencies within a multi branded apparel business
• Full Circle (or similar ERP system) experience strongly preferred
• Strong analytical and retail math skills
• Knowledge of merchandise planning principles and procedures

ABILITY TO:

• Effectively communicate in written and verbal form
• Demonstrate proactive problem solving skills
• Challenge self and others to think with vision
• Be innovative in arriving at new and untried solutions to problems
• Result-oriented and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
• Be a team player with a positive attitude

Job Requirements

• 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree
• 3-5 years eCommerce retail planning experience
