General Summary

The Sr. Designer is responsible for the design and execution of all assigned product categories across the development process for men’s and boy’s. It is the Sr Designer’s responsibility to deliver creative and innovative design concepts as well as relevant and volume driving product to life each season. The Sr. Designer is a key member of the O’Neill product team, responsible for collaborating, with the Director of Design, on the seasonal design direction and creation of the assigned product categories.

Essential Job Functions

•Responsible for design and execution of a men’s and boy’s, apparel and accessories categories
•Responsible for delivering creative, market leading designs, within defined merchandising plan
•Responsible for all design details including silhouettes, fabric, fit, print, branding and all styling details
•Creates silhouette/detail/print/color mood boards for each season for design director to review
•Must have strong textile print skills: creating, repeats, producing multiple colorways, and art handover
•Responsible for maintaining all product details, tech packs, and BOMs, in the PLM system
•Proficient in executing complete tech packs in Illustrator format
•Ownership of all design deadlines across the company’s development calendar
•Partnership with Merchandising and Development teams to achieve all business goals
•Identify opportunities to drive revenue growth across assigned categories
•Strong understanding of the marketplace, target consumer’s needs and the competitions products
•Current on trends in and outside of our immediate market
•Travel for market research, product development with suppliers, and to attend sales meetings
•Other duties as assigned
