Job Description
Looking for the perfect candidate to join our Boulder CO office. We are a fashion accessory manufacturer that produces private label accessories for brands and retailers across America. Our company is located in Los Angeles, however this position is out of our satellite office in Boulder, CO.

This position is multi-faceted in that it requires you to design accessories, work on specs and a develop all in one.
Perfect position for someone that is creative and great in Illustrator but would love to learn the apparel industry. We work with lots of great brands and retailers, you would be a part of that!

The design aspect of the position includes trend research and designing a collection of Men’s and Women’s headwear/accessories on a bi-annual basis. These designs will be used by the sales team to present to clients for Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter seasons. Trend boards and color direction will also be implemented seasonally.

Design new accessory concepts and put together presentable CADS for clients based on trend or design requests.

The spec tech portion of the position is primarily responsible for ensuring fit, desired appearance, and company quality standards are met and maintained, including managing all aspects of technical accessory specification development and technical construction comments. Must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish end goal of product.

The product development portion of the position encompasses several steps and it will vary from day to day:
Effectively creating new styles in our PLM system with accurate tech-packs, including measurements, technique call-outs and materials.

Evaluate existing tech-packs for errors and ensure all details are recorded accurately and prepared for product developers to have smooth development and production phases.

Evaluate and make updates as needed to construction standards & guidelines for quality assurance team to adhere to.

Price conscious approach to style setup - Review techniques and materials with Sales lead to optimize perceived values and minimize MOQ issues.

Review client sample comments and update tech-packs as needed for developers, while providing input necessary to improve overall construction & fit of the accessory.

Identify potential production, quality and costing issues while making recommendations to ensure product integrity.

Problem solving and decision making: ability to analyze, troubleshoot and problem solve fit, construction and production issues.

Trim Menus-Putting together documents of required trims for production team based on technical positioning and wording of each clients requirements.
Job Requirements
**3+ years’ experience in Design or Product Development.
Knowledge of accessory construction a +.

**Strong organization, written and verbal communication skills.

**Proficiency in AI, Photoshop, PLM, Excel & Outlook.

**Must be able to work on a PC and MAC platform

**Ability to evaluate knit and woven fabrications, embroidery and print techniques, and make adjustments on the front end to achieve desired look of accessory/products.

**Creative thinker that will present construction and design input with sales team.

**Ability to solve and assist product developers with corrective actions for production problems as they arrive.
Experience with a variety of product categories is a +.

**Relationship Management: ability to build constructive and effective relationships and be a team player.

**A sense of urgency and ability to work in a deadline driven environment is a must.
