Position Summary:

A dynamic self starter, this manager is responsible for hiring, training, coaching, mentoring and holding accountable all procurement team members at Charlie's Chalk Dust. They will lead the team to achieving goals in inventory, gross margin and operating margin as established with executive management.

This position will oversee planning and prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay while coordinating the flow of materials, from purchase order entry through inventory build.

This highly organized, self motivated individual is responsible for managing global master production schedule, manufacturing capacity planning and periodic reporting of key metrics. Developing supply network/ value chain schedules and leading efforts to optimize manufacturing capacity utilization while delivering superior internal customer satisfaction. Must be detail oriented, data driven, self-motivated, cost conscience, respectful and work well in a complex but dynamic team environment.

What you’ll be known for…

Understanding Our Business & Our Opportunities

Establish key performance metrics to drive supply chain performance in the areas of: inventory availability, on-time delivery, service, quality, cost, and compliance.
Create reports and analyses identifying solutions for diverse key supply chain opportunities
Develop modeling tools and work with key customer, Sales, Marketing, and vendor stakeholders to maintain relevant forecasts at each stage of the supply chain. Measure and maintain accuracy and success of forecasts.
Leverage forecast data and supply chain relationships to maintain product forecast, capacity, and inventory plans.
Establish inventory and purchasing tools and heuristics, align materials management, demand planning, and sourcing to maximize inventory turns, maximizing profitability, and sustain constant product availability
Track supplier partner performance scorecard/indicators, consistently identifying opportunities to improve supply chain performance and reduce costs
Improving Supplier Performance & Relationships

Utilize a passion for negotiation, creativity, and problem solving to reach strong, favorable supplier relationships across a wide range of costs and components
Work with existing suppliers and strategic procurement to ensure quality, shorten lead-times, and reduce costs
Foster a strong supplier life-cycle: from successful onboarding, to high quality service, and continuous improvements or replacement
Establishing Best & Better Practices

Utilizing experience in best practices; develop, deploy and compellingly communicate standard processes and policies governing team performance management, supplier management, and coordination with other business areas. Drive improved procurement performance.
Identify process bottleneck and implement solutions in a timely manner
Work with supply chain partners to identify key issues, drive supplier corrective actions, and identify supplier-specific improvements to achieve customer and company objectives.
Own and manage all processes governing and impacting inventory numbers including work orders, cycle counts, transfers, and receiving activities. 100% inventory accuracy is your Holy Grail.
Support and coordinate changes in BOM, new product introductions, and inventory obsolescence.
Collaborating Across the Organization

Work with Sales, Marketing and R&D to coordinate on new product launches, item definitions, manufacturing locations, and critical supply points/suppliers
Work with Sales, Marketing, and Management to disposition to-be-expired and excess inventory goods at maximum value to the company and customers.
Work with Sales, R&D, and Management to communicate information regarding supplier delivery or quality issues.
Work closely with warehouse personnel, Accounting, and supplier partners to avoid any inventory, purchasing, or billing discrepancies.
Provide guidance, support, and mid level oversight to fulfillment and inventory warehouse operations coordinators.
Leading, Managing, and Holding People Accountable

Evaluating, training, and managing two to five direct reports immediately upon hire. Develop, grow, and retain a staff dedicated to supply chain excellence.
Establishing accountabilities at different levels within purchasing and warehouse management teams and business areas.
Demonstrate the ability to build and motivate teams that generate outstanding results and achieve ambitious goals.
Supervising and collaborating with remote teams and direct reports.
This person has learned some things...

Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of equivalent work experience
BA in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business or similar relevant field preferred
APICS CPIM, CSCP or similar certification preferred
Six Sigma Green Belt or better certification a plus
And has spent some time honing their craft...

3 to 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain with 2 to 3 of those years managing a team of three or more
Has experience working closely with or in Warehouse Operations
3+ years of cosmetic, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical industries supply chain experience a plus
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of NetSuite is preferred--Oracle or SAP a plus
