The Product Manager will be responsible for driving direction in the development of the Giro Bike Helmet business. This role is ultimately responsible for the P&L of this product category, communicating the product direction to the sales force, being the product expert through market research and tracking sales trends, and coordinating product development with R&D and our vendors. The position is a central hub for the category, between R&D, manufacturing, sales, operations, and other functional groups.

Essential Functions:
•Drive product direction with an awareness of market trends. Must have a great sense of what trends to capitalize on as well as recognize opportunities to set new trends.
•Take responsibility for the P&L of the product lines, with specific focus on product margin, spending, and bottom line profitability.
•Maintain competitive analysis of the category to help educate others on the competitive landscape and support line direction.
•Communicate direction to R&D team with design briefs specifying delivery dates, calendar, and target price points and graphics.
•Coordinate all development between R&D, graphics and manufacturing.
•Be the hub of communication between Brand, Product Creation, Sales and Operations on all product line issues. •Proactively communicate all pertinent information to each functional department so educated decisions are made.
•Responsible for products in category to be accurately reflected in PLM (Product Line Management software database) from development through the life of the product. This information must be communicated to all departments to ensure accurate and timely product launches.
•Create line plan. Create and analyze top-level forecasting documents with Operations team. Must be prepared to communicate philosophy for forecast trends.
•Conduct well-prepared, educational, interesting presentations for sales meetings, pre-line reviews with strategic accounts, and other events with internal and external customers. Support product line launches at trade shows.
•Apply multiple approaches to develop, lead and execute marketing initiatives to achieve business objectives and maintain a competitive advantage.
•Work closely with external marketing partners and cross functional teams on the commercialization of products.

Education and Training:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or Communications or an equivalent combination of education, training and related experience required.
•Minimum three to five (3-5) years of experience in developing and managing product marketing initiatives required. •This role will place a heavy emphasis on driving concepts, team building, and excellent execution.
•Knowledge and passion for cycling.
•Working knowledge of marketing practices and principles desirable.
•Strong proficiency with MS Office applications, primarily Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
