Role Mission
The Vice President, Brand & Culture Engagement leads strategy and communications for Gucci’s social impact programs in North America. As an ambassador for Gucci Changemakers in North America, the role drives external partnerships and relationships that foster brand and culture engagement, represents Gucci’s vision externally and internally with influence, and is integrated into Gucci’s corporate culture initiatives for a full 360 view of impact. Responsibilities are heavily focused on identifying and developing ways to drive the Gucci Changemakers strategy but will be expected to be involved in Gucci’s global social impact footprint including amplifying Gucci Equilibrium.
Key Accountabilities
Lead strategic ambition and creative vision for the Gucci North America Changemaker Program, including managing relationship with social impact agency, key strategic partners, and the Gucci Changemakers Council
Oversee the Gucci Changemakers Council, including regular communications and engagement touchpoints, and own Council meetings
Serve as a Gucci Ambassador, representing Gucci in key communities and with influential leaders driving social change
Develop and activate external brand engagement strategies to strengthen all social impact activities, with a focus Gucci Changemakers, but also integrating Gucci Equilibrium, Chime for Change, and more, in collaboration with global and regional Brand Engagement teams, and the WW Entertainment Industry Relations team
Strategize creative and innovative ways to fuel and empower communities and individuals that Gucci engages with through its outreach, programs, and initiatives
Build pipeline of partners and relationships in important strategic communities, across cultural pillars such as Fashion, Art, Music, Film, Politics, and more
Foster engagement with like-minded NGOs, companies, and individuals who are leaders of social impact nationally and in key markets
Represent Gucci in highly influential circles where social impact, communications, and culture intersect
Integrate impact-related activity into Brand & Client Engagement and WW Entertainment Relations initiatives including product launches, store openings, brand image and client events, influencer marketing, and partnerships
Partner with PR, Events, Media and WW Entertainment relations teams on communication strategy and integrated planning related to Changemakers initiatives and Gucci Equilibrium
Support internal brand engagement strategies, in partnership with Human Resources, including local initiatives to support Gucci Changemakers, Volunteering Programs, ERGs, Gucci Program for Scholars
Own 360 impact planning, aligning external and internal impact initiatives and communications for one cohesive and organized view of activity across the business
Provide counsel on crisis communications strategy and planning, as needed
Serve as member of the Global Equity Board to share and communicate key North America updates to Global Executive Leadership
Participate in global Changemakers meetings, sharing strategies and plans with worldwide counterparts
Manage and mentor Coordinator, Brand & Client Engagement
Oversee Brand & Culture compliance, budget, and expenditures working in alignment with Finance, PR, and Events
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree and/or 10 years’ experience in social impact and communications or public relations is required; industry experience in fashion, entertainment, or the arts is preferred
Highly influential with strong network of contacts across NGOs, communications leaders, and cultural institutions
Masterful storyteller with ability to translate ideas into clear, compelling messaging and organized coordination
Strong speaking and verbal communications skills with frequent presentations to internal and external groups and Executive Leadership
Alignment with Gucci’s core values to represent them internally and externally
Inherent team spirit to provide energy, drive, inspiration, and enthusiasm
Ability to forge meaningful relationships across multiple departments and functions within the company, and with key strategic partners outside Gucci
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, which demands both quick thinking and strong attention to detail
