Design Engineer - Kiteboarding Job in Hood River, CA

The position of the Design Engineer is to work with all aspects of Kiteboarding product design and development phase through final product delivery to ensure that all products meet quality and performance requirements set by the Liquid Force Kiteboarding development team.Aspects of the position include, but are not limited to, maintaining daily factory relationships, sourcing and qualifying new potential factories, negotiate costing, set quality standards and protocols and be responsible for executing final delivery calendar.

Aspects and duties of the Design Engineer include but are not limited to:

• Work with design team to construct, develop and communicate technical packages with all factory contacts.
• Daily communication and reporting of current production standing and status.
• Implementation, execution and management of quality control protocols and procedures.
• Ensure that all products are properly finished according to specification documents and packaging.
• Aid in the sourcing and qualifying of new materials and material vendors.
• Responsible for negotiation of costing with material vendors and factory production.
• Travel to product factories and vendors to inspect production procedures and quality controls.
• Travel to sales meetings, product meetings and R&D trips when needed.
• Work with R&D team to develop new ideas and products
