About the job
The Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager will report to the Corporate Controller and be directly responsible for managing the preparation of financial statements, including the income statement, balance sheet, cash flows, MD&A/footnotes, and EBITDA/covenants calculations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and other management reports/ad hoc reports.
• Perform accounting research and prepare technical accounting memos
• Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance (e.g. leases and revenue recognition), provide US GAAP interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, concise and comprehensive manner
• Support the month-end closing process through preparation of journal entries, including technically challenging accounting transactions
• Manage communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions on accounting disclosures and issues
• Lead the coordination with the external auditors of the annual integrated audit, quarterly reviews, and statutory audit activities
• Create, implement and maintain comprehensive accounting policy documents to improve clarity and consistency
• Implement and maintain financial reporting processes and internal controls
• Perform other activities and special projects, as needed.
