Job Description

The VP of IT will lead the transition of the IT organization from the traditional to the innovative, by teaching stakeholders about new technologies and strategizing across functional boundaries. This person will demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills rather than just technical skills.

The ideal candidate will extend their leadership and expertise beyond the IT function: project management, continuous improvement, MP&A, people development, strategic planning – and partner with all aspects of the business to maximize the value of technology investments, generate revenue, drive new opportunities, and address challenges and risks.

• Directly or indirectly supervise all IT staff and demonstrate superb leadership skills, well-grounded in technology, with a deep understanding of Retail and Ecommerce
• Provide guidance and leadership within the IT organizational structure and provide direction in a growing ecom environment vs. a decreasing store foot print.
• Evaluate employee performance and provide guidance and feedback.
• Set departmental goals and objectives and establish departmental performance standards.
• Lead the management and implementation of a series of technical projects, as it relates to each individual departments within the organization, by working closely with all cross functional leaders and partners.
• Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to assure assigned projects can be completed on time and on budget and assure that final cost will maximize the ROI for each project.
• Meet with senior and executive management to determine priority of projects and assess possible impacts to business and or operations.
• Maintain current systems in addition to driving internal and external innovation.
• Create ways to minimize cost, and maximize results/resourcefulness
• Lead the strategic movement from a primarily on premise model to a SaaS or Cloud model where appropriate.
• Strategize IT architecture planning

Job Requirements

• 15+ years of Retail IT experience including both brick and mortar and ecommerce
• Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred
• Proven experience and success in Omni Channel systemic capabilities
• Demonstrated experience and success with inventory management systemic support capabilities including:
o Single inventory
o Allocation systems
o Merchandise and Store Planning and Assortment tools
• Expertise in implementation and utilization of Business Intelligence tools
• Successfully implemented and maintained payment strategies;
o EMV
o Tokenization
o PCI compliance
