Troy Lee Designs, the world’s leading aspirational brand of bicycle and motocross helmets and apparel, is looking for a Protection/ Helmet Product Developer. The Product Developer for Protection/Helmets will lead all aspects of the development process for TLD protection/ helmets from inception through buy ready completion. This position is responsible for supporting merchandising during the brief process, design through technical limitations at sketch through final 3D CAD, and product management to create a broad, innovative, and proprietary protection and helmet product line.
Duties & Responsibilities (Include But Are Not Limited To):
• Drive all development functions from inception through go to market for the introduction of new protection/ helmets product line for bike and moto.
• Partner with design team to execute design language through the product development process, from start to final buy ready status.
• Partner with Design, Development and Bike/ Moto PLM leadership to establish a proprietary product strategy and direction for the line.
• Collaborate with TLD teams to ensure protection/ helmets product line includes key TLD DNA ingredients.
• Work with PLM’s on product line strategy specific to architecture, pricing strategies, and profitability targets to ensure strong revenue and gross margin targets.
• Full execution of construction documentation (BOM, CBD, technical files) for entire product line.
• Manage development calendar to ensure milestones and deadlines are achieved.
• Tracking of all development activities from design handover through buy ready status.
• Work closely with supply chain/ vendor base on product development, raw material development, physical and material testing, R&D requirements, etc...
• Lead communication with key athletes on product development and testing to ensure product meets all expected requirements.
• Assist in product meetings at all stages from product creation through go to market.
Qualifications Required:
• Minimum 3 years of product development, engineering, (sourcing a plus)
• Experience with overseas and or mass manufacturing sites.
• Understanding of product testing and associated homologation and certification
• Significant knowledge, involvement, and understanding of the mountain bike and motocross markets.
• Excellent knowledge on completion of construction documentation specific to development.
