Alpinestars is looking for a Apparel Technical Designer to join our growing team! As a member of the development team, the Apparel Technical Designer handles product details to assure the products have correct sizing, specs, scales, fits, ratios and accurate documentation of all products. As well as knowledge of garment construction. The ideal candidate will have a background and knowledge of men’s knit and woven categories. Accountable for all specs, construction, grading, and fittings at the highest level to ensure quality products, which meet the needs of Alpinestars.
Responsibilities include:
o Collaborating with design team to develop initial designs, technical packages, and garment specifications
o Create and maintain grade rules for each category/style
o Measuring & preparing fit samples for fit sessions
o Conduct fit sessions with designers on live models, reviewing overall fit & confirming constructions details of garments against tech-packs
o Communicating all spec, fit & garment construction comments & corrections to overseas factories daily.
o Monitoring & tracking WIP orders ensuring styles are approved on schedule & adhere to development & production calendars
o Conduct fit comparison evaluations with benchmark brands, to make sure we are up to date on fit/construction
o Create and maintain fit block library
