Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Product excellence is at the heart of The North Faces success. Achieving a leadership position in the marketplace requires innovative thinking and the ability to inspire all product creation shareholders. The Product Manager is responsible for assisting in assigned product classification planning and product creation process from concept through commercialization. With a strong eye for product and the ability to curate and edit a product line, they're charged with ownership of assigned marketplace, sales and margin accountability, calendar adherence, and cross functional leadership. The Product Manager owns relevant information on consumer and competitors. Assists Senior Product Manager in identifying trends, business strategy plans and analysis. Reports to and works closely with category Sr. Product Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Owns Design to Cost cross-check.
Owns Product Brief and translates Merchant owned Territory Line plan into category driven product briefs.
Owns Visual Line Plans throughout season.
Coordinates with sales and owns sample orders.
Owns competitive landscape and positioning research.
Ensures key calendar milestone and dates for product creation team are met.
Conducts and/or participates in weekly team meetings to ensure teams are aligned and address issues etc.
Assists in coordination of cross-functional process of On-Going R&D.
Manages approval process for materials, fit and proto.
Support sales with Product Education tools and presentations for sales meetings.
Collaboration with sales on sales meeting tools and presentations.
Presents product lines at preview meetings, key pre-line appointments and sales meetings.
Drives commercialization of market leading product.

SKILLW &REQUIREMENTS
3-7 Years of Related Professional Experience.
Bachelor's Degree in apparel, operations, business or related field.
Demonstrable successes in managing an apparel or equipment lines.
Must be detail oriented but able to present the big picture.
Works effectively within a team.
Influential in building positive partnerships with cross functional teams.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Knowledge of apparel and/or footwear construction, materials/fabrics.
Understands materials, fit, function, and end use requirements.
Forward thinking and strategic skills.
Strong Retail math skills.
Must be able to handle multiple priorities in efficient manner.
Contributions in assisting management of a category.
Experience in merchandising/buying.
Travel: 5%
