Job Description
Reporting to the VP of the Digital Lab, this role will define the digital innovation strategy and roadmap for consumer digital experiences looking 3-5 years ahead. While leading a current team of developers, the Sr. Director of Digital Innovation will be tasked with establishing the structure needed for success within available resources while developing a way for all associated partners to contribute to digital innovation. KeyResponsibilities:
Define the Digital Innovation roadmap against goals of the Digital Lab business unit.
Create prototypes for in-store and in-home consumer experiences.
Collaborate closely with the brands and the global innovation network to inspire, create and launch press worthy experiences.
Partner with leading universities, startups and VCs to ensure VF is current with innovation in the marketplace.
Work with other labs to learn best practices and co-create if/as applicable.
Continuously surveythe market for newest technologies and trends.
Drive theincubation ofideas,determinetechnologiesto implement, evangelize solutions, creating proof of concepts, pilot new technologies and processes and establish solutions towards production.
Ensure strong cross functional relationships with VF brands, VF global innovation networks, startups, universities and VCs to be successful.
Requirements, Skills & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science,Engineering or equivalent / related technology degree. Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Business Administration is a plus.
Strong, proven understanding of innovation, design thinking, and digital technologies.
8 + years experience managing a team.
10 + years experience supporting a relatedtechnology industry with demonstrated success in developing new ideas, prototypes and proof of concepts.
Visionary/futurist mind-set that can uphold the big picture.
Strong thought leadership and presentation skills. Comfortable speaking to large audience.
Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership and relationship buildingskills.
Prior experience and knowledge in the following areas is preferred:Innovation or incubation roles, former lab experience
Participation in Open Source communities
Augmented reality, holograms and virtual reality
Internet of things, enabled smart products
Structure from Motion techniques, especially SLAM
