About the job



The primary responsibilities of the Apparel Print Designer are to design and execute creative print artwork for The North Face global product and Creative departments needs. This includes Mens, Womens and Youth print apparel, accessories and equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute to the innovative, brand-right print for all tiers of global apparel and product branding, for both in-line and quick-turn calendars under direction of Design Director.
Be at the global forefront of design trends in print. Design original prints that align with seasonal direction and commercial objectives.
Continuously leverages resources in producing new ideas. Has solid awareness of outdoor, lifestyle and streetwear trends and the and the ability to interpret these trends though the TNF lens.
Creates accurate production files detailing artwork specifications, scale, color callouts. Reviews strike-offs and drives for highest standard of results.
Produce trend reports and present findings to cross functional teams.
Assist Print Team to maintain print library.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
2-3 years minimum related professional experience.
Experience in apparel print/graphic design a plus
Bachelor's Degree in Studio Arts, Textile Design, Graphic Design, or equivalent experience and portfolio, or equivalent years of combined education and experience.
Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign in a Mac environment.
High level of creativity and proficient in color usage.
Basic knowledge of fabrications and their relation to the print production process.
Strong understanding of design principles, and ability to reference art history.
Hand-drawing and illustration capabilities a plus.
Exercises personal professionalism and sense of accountability.
Possess effective communication skills and thrives on working within team-based environment.
Must be detail oriented with design, production files, and communication.
Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
Travel required: 5%
