Global Merchandising Manager: Become the Newest Member of the VF Family

The Global Merchandising Manager will be responsible for creating compelling commercially relevant line plans for the Global marketplace in their assigned consumer territory. They will closely partner with Regional Merchandising, Global Product, Regional Sales, and Marketing teams, to ensure close adherence to the seasonal strategy, financial targets, and brand vision.

How You Will Make a Difference:
Execute Merch Financial Plan & Category Assortment Plan and ownership of Line Plan
Segmentation and assortment strategy by channel and tier
Global Line adoption in collaboration with Regional Merch
Execute segmentation strategy based on strategic direction, insights and feedback
Strategic plan guidance
Pricingarchitecture and Margin
Milestone forecasts / end to end tracking
Assortment planning and presentations
Execute channel-specific big ideas and curated assortments
Flow strategy at style/color level
Quick turn logowear strategy and in-season management
Gathers Market Back Info, Seasonal hindsighting and assortment analytics
Storytelling support for digital, in-store and brand marketing teams
Achievement of SKU Productivity targets aligned to SKU targets
Identify trends and opportunities for growth based on market travel and marketplace insights
Competitor Intelligence (Market, Benchmark Competition, Pricing)
Lifecycle Management & Flow
Consolidates regional needs into Global Line plan for own area of business and interfaces with Global product managers

Skills for Success:

Years of related professional experience: 5+ years in branded merchandise/development/retail buying.

Educational/Position Requirements:
Bachelor of Arts: Merchandising, Product Management, or Business Preferred or equivalent combination of years of experience and education preferred
1-2 years management a plus and cross functional partnerships
Computer/Software Applications: Microsoft Office Suite. Adobe illustrator a plus
Strong communication skills both verbal and written, strong cross functional collaboration skills required
Strong presentation skills, proven ability to influence internal and external business partners and customers
Strong understanding of assigned marketplace, including regional differences, across diverse channels of distribution
Ability to play an integral role within a broader cross-functional team, to build consensus, connect department and individual expectations to the company vision, and achieve results across a variety of distinct groups.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
Experience in strategic planning, combined with knowledge of retail sales analysis and interpretation of data to identify opportunities
Experience in product forecasting and/or statistical modeling (a plus)
Understanding of product development and manufacturing process (a plus)
