What You Will Do
The Sr. Manager of Strategy Americas sits within The North Faces Global Strategy team and reports to The North Faces Director of Global Strategy but has a very close tie to TNF GM of Americas and the Americas Regional leadership team. The role will be responsible for cultivating an exploration mindset companywide and driving strategic thinking across the organization. He/She must be a change agent" adept at driving strategic choices into the business, able to advocate for recommendations, and successful at influencing critical business decisions. The Sr. Manager will partner with the GM of the Americas, the VP of Global Strategy, and the Director of Global Strategy by (1) supporting the regional strategic planning process for the Americas, (2) leading regional strategic initiatives working directly with the regional DTC, Sales, and Merchandising leaders, (3) developing a regional fact base, and (4) searching for new growth vectors and opportunities for continuous improvement.

How You Will Make A Difference
Actively partner with GM of Americas, the broader Americas Leadership team, and the VP and Director of Global Strategy, in developing the Americas strategic vision.
Analyze complex information to assist in the identification of company strengths, weaknesses and business opportunities.
Develop recommendations and frequently advise leadership on changes and adjustment that need to be applied.
Serve as internal consultant for key Global and Regional business leaders in vetting strategic ideas by providing analytical, problem solving and strategic frameworks.
Track/measure ongoing progress against strategic initiatives and report out findings/recommendations to senior management as requested.
Support GM of Americas, VP of Global Strategy, and Director of Global Strategy and in strategic, brand, and corporate deliverables which will include quarterly & annual reporting, investor relations, Board of Directors reports, and other similar deliverables.
Developing a regional fact base to help shape and guide strategic decisions.
Interact with VF Corporate Strategy function, as necessary, to ensure strategy development approach interfaces and aligns with enterprise-wide standards.

8-10 years of progressive experience, with minimum of 6 years in apparel and retail industry. Experience in apparel industry required. Must understand go-to-market strategy.
Extensive prior experience working directly with senior executives and minimum of 2-3 years of managerial experience.
Experience within an apparel or retail strategy function.
Familiarity with creating logical and simple frameworks to clearly define and evaluate strategic choices; ability to advise/coach others on usage.
Adept at building trust and influence within large organizations to drive results.
Demonstrated track record of academic and professional achievement.
Prior management consulting experience a plus. MBA a plus.

Skills Required:
Must be able to connect work to the "big picture" brand and business goals. Distill large data sets and craft strategic narratives.
Devise strategic solutions by leveraging experience and conceptual thinking; uses evaluation, judgement, and interpretation to help others select right course of action.
Interpret and explain information to audiences who are not familiar with subject matter, often requiring persuasion; able to adapt style for differing audiences while ensuring cultural sensitivity.
Entrepreneurial orientation, client-service mentality; must be able to perform under short deadlines and in high visibility settings.
Strong judgment, problem-solving and business acumen.
High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint programs.

Academic Qualifications:
University degree (BA, BS); graduate coursework in business, preferred. MBA degree a plus.

Specific Working Conditions:
Ability to travel domestically and internationally ~25% of time
