What You Will Do

You will be accountable for the high-quality execution of designs for the Street product category and for balancing workload among the team to ensure all deadlines are met (work that may be performed directly by Design Manager or by other Designers). You will also work in partnership with the Global Creative Design Director to drive seasonal concept and direction of the Street category.
You will execute individual designs and collections appropriate to product and design brief and lead creation of high-quality design packages during the design process. You will use of Illustration, Designer, and Assistant Design resources to support design effort and track a design schedule to ensure a timely completion following the predetermined product development calendar.

In your role, you will perform research in industry and product periodicals for new information and partner with material sourcing to develop and drive innovative fabrications. By working closely with brand ambassadors / sponsored athletes, you will be able to identify and solve for market voids and create innovative and technologically advanced products. You will lead partnership with category management and product development to ensure margin targets are achieved to meet business goals. You will be accountable for proof of concept work by the design team, for defining product appropriate fit and cohesion across respective category and creating and communicating visual presentations of well-defined ideas and concepts as necessary to internal staff, dealers, outside agents.
You will promote work with cross functional partners to execute product strategy and tiering as defined by Design Director for their respective category (based on business goals). You will be responsible for the growth and development of team members and will be accountable for informing Global Design leadership on team progress.

How You Will Make A Difference

You be a part of a team of designers & execute on the strategy for the Street category and will partner with the design director on overall direction of the conceptual development of product lines, anchored in innovative technical solutions, which in turn fuel company sales and profits. You will be accountable for the output and execution of designs by themselves along with other designers on staff. You will be comfortable designing whole collections around coherent themes, functions, and prices and should also understand product design in relation to the company brand. You will be responsible for providing inspiration and foundation to the design team for a collection, combining all necessary trend, material, and market research into a viable product line. You will also be accountable for the creative production of designs to enhance the Street category, brings a track record of skillful technical design with success in the market and within elite end-users. You will be passionate about sustainable design and proactive about creating designs that reflect that. You will also serve as a mentor and leader to their team of designers.


What You Bring

Years of Related Professional Experience: 8-10+ years
Educational/Position Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Design (apparel), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in flat sketching expertise.
Hands-on experience with CAD software.
Experience in creation of design packages and execution of product designs.
Experience in designing successful products and collections.
Experience in research and analysis and design cycles.
Experience in managing complete product and collection cycles.

Skills:
Ability to negotiate with cross functional partners
Shows initiative
Strong knowledge of formulating color palettes.
Strong knowledge and understanding of apparel construction.
Excellent communications skills, including the ability to present concepts to product teams and review boards in a persuasive manner, and communicate responsibilities and timelines to designers on team.
Strong understanding of circular design & sustainability
Strong understanding of technical performance and contemporary design in the competitive market
Strong knowledge of product cycles.
Strong knowledge of construction & material cost
Strong knowledge of product design and development process.
Strong understanding of designing for market, trend, and end uses; evaluating those attempts.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Strong knowledge of aesthetic form and the ability to design for different consumers and end uses.
Strong knowledge of textile and material construction and properties.
Strong knowledge of product costs and impact of design.
Ability to manage and inspire other designers.
