This Digital Front End Developer will be instrumental in developing the front-end experience on thenorthface.com. This role is a fixed term position for a 12 month assignment. The position will participate in evaluating functional requirements, technical design, software code development and deployment of enhancements to The North Face eCommerce channels. The position will focus primarily on front-end development of commerce elements within the website.
This candidate will work closely with our Digital Creative teams, Ecommerce UX Team and Marketing teams to develop and execute critical-path user journeys. Close collaboration with our partners at the Digital & Technology team along with other brands within the VF Network will be required to deliver projects when needed.
Development and implementation of digital front-end objectives, working closely with designers to create engaging web pages, user experiences and unique digital brand assets
Deliver cross-browser, performance and responsive code building upon the Digital Platform CMS using ready-made components, custom layouts and external libraries and tools
Work with designers to suggest and build animations, effects and engaging interfaces and elements using native and non-native browser technologies and libraries
Create issue and feature tickets for improvement, platform bugs and conceptualize of components to platform development teams
Leverage existing components within the platform, specifically the Adobe Experience Manager CMS, to minimize needs for development updates for digital stakeholders
All functions of the position should adhere to existing IT corporate policy. UAT, BAV, QA, bug reporting and fixing
Partner with eCommerce and marketing teams to improve content-to-commerce flow, make suggestions and provide prototypes when applicable
Explore, leverage utilize modern production-ready libraries and frameworks
Collaboration with colleagues with varying levels of technical knowledge and skillsets
Partner with our Digital Analyst to track and measure changes and implementations ensuring performance stability
Manage Front-end tagging requirements for tracking accuracy
Collaborate with the A/B Testing & Personalization lead(s) on developing and testing new ideas and theories
Minimum 2-4 years digital industry experience, preferably in a structured, process-driven environment required
Experience with Agile project management methodology
Experience with performance-based development
Must possess the ability to communicate using strong verbal, written, and listening skills
Excellent understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3 to be consistent across all browsers and devices (responsive designs).
Knowledge of overall web development experience, IBM WebSphere and Adobe Experience Manager experience preferred
DB2, mySQL server development experience.
Basic knowledge of common A/B Testing and Personalization engines such as Monetate, Certona, and ExactTarget.
Experience working and integration of third-party applications such as onsite search, tag managers, post-purchase rate and reviews, fit finders, and store locators
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be extremely responsive, able to work under pressure in crisis with a strong sense of urgency.
Previous retail eCommerce/B2C/DTC experience preferred
