Giant Bicycles, located in Newbury Park, California is looking for a Gear Product Specialist who will report to the Gear Business Manager.

This position is located at our corporate office in Newbury Park, CA. It is NOT open to remote work and we prefer you live within commutable distance to our office in order to apply.

This position is non-exempt and salary range is $22.00 - $23.00 hr (based on experience).

The Gear Product Specialist Cannot assists in the coordination of the product line in order to fulfill company goals while tracking current industry trends and future needs. The primary responsibility of the Gear Specialist is the organization of products including the lifecycle from item selection to discontinue status.

Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships in order to meet product roll out timelines and to develop a more competitive supply chain.
- Based on direction provided by management determine product selection. Manage running changes and refinement accordingly.
- Identify, evaluate, and new vendors/new products or categories for adding to line up.
- Assist in the development/refinement of products to line up with Giant USA’s market needs
- Analysis of key competitors with regard to pricing and selection – competitive analysis.
- Provide required product information to Item Master/Content Administrator for product creation and maintenance in Axapta.
- Cost and Terms administration with vendors for sales promotions.
- Participate in inventory review process and provide guidance to move obsolete or over stocked inventory.
- Interface with bicycle Category Managers to add and/or update O.E. replacement part selection in the Gear line.
- Perform 1st article QC inspections for all GEAR related matters.
- Initiate rework of items that did not meet QC expectations
- Assist marketing department with creation of Gear Catalog/ Sourcebook assets
- When needed assist Buyer with inventory/vendor issues.
- Act as a point of contact for the Sales and Customer services department to respond to all questions pertaining to the Gear line.
- Interface with GEAR Product Managers to assist in the creation of Technical Bulletins when needed
- Assist in product training and education asset creation during local and off-site product presentations
- Coordinate/update all pricing for Giant and gear, GRA, warranty and 3rd party
- Process and file all Stock Adjustment Requests upon approval
- Manage GEAR sample inventory for sales, marketing, and quality control
- Additional responsibilities as defined by Giant management.
