Head Start Caps is in search of a Product Development Associate to join the team in Carson, CA.
ABOUT HEAD START //
Head Start Caps is a manufacturer of Headwear, supplying the retail and brand trade for the past 30 years with a variety of headwear needs. We’re the leader in Private Label Headwear. We design and produce a complete line of headwear options for hundreds of brands, offering everything from beanies to trucker hats to 6 panel construction options. We continue to set market trends with a wide variety of materials, styles and construction features. Between our 6 domestic and international offices / warehouses, we offer one of the largest inventories offered.

POSITION SUMMARY //
We’re searching for the next member of our Product Development team to take part in our growing success! In this role, you will have the ability to shape future headwear trends, work with some of the best brands in the business and help our customer’s visions come to life. You will work with our inside-sales, creative and production teams to develop customer designs and bring them to life. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the product development life cycle and have a working knowledge of current production trends and key sourcing methods to produce some of the best headwear on the market.
This role will require someone with a team mentality and previous exposure to the surf, skate, lifestyle and fashion markets to best serve our clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES // Include, but not limited to:
• Understand production needs and work with multiple teams to produce headwear
• Read, coordinate and create tech-packs to help illustrate client needs
• Work directly with customers to create their vision of product
• Stay up to date on fashion, color and material trends to provide the best of production options
• Attend meetings/tradeshows to identify new product demands, schedules and procurement needs
• Communicate as needed with overseas sourcing and production vendors to ensure timely delivery
• Adhere to multiple production timelines and schedules
• Follow up on production/development issues to ensure strong customer service standards
• Request and track all sample lines and proto samples for easy access
