About the job

The Associate Graphic Designer is responsible for creating graphic design solutions for a small set of Zumiez owned & Licensed products. Under the guidance of the Graphic Designer/Sr. Graphic Designer, this position will collaborate with apparel designers and other product facing teams to create, select and incorporate graphics into product design as well as own the creative design process for a small set of categories.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

- Research and interpret market trends and creatively design unique graphic solutions for various products and applications (i.e. tee shirts, packaging, trim, internal collateral, accessories, hard goods, etc.)
- Collaborate with Apparel Design team & Sr. Graphic Designer to execute on seasonal concept deliverables and special projects throughout the year
- Oversight of design process from concept through completion for a small set of categories
- Develop presentation skills by contributing to seasonal presentations and executing on presentations for a small set of owned categories
- Manage the tracking of artwork through the entire lifecycle
- Work with Design team, Production team, and vendors to ensure items are prepared and delivered on time and correctly
- Partners with Licensing and Buying Teams on creating and developing graphics for licensed product
- May occasionally assist with administrative tasks (tracking, filing, artwork file maintenance)
- Promote continual creative improvement and actively contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability

Job Requirements & Qualifications

- 2-3 years of experience in graphic design function preferred
- BA or equivalent course work in graphic design preferred
- Excellent hand-drawn and/or computer illustration skills
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal, communication and team-building
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Proven presentation skills and ability to confidently speak in group settings
- Ability to remain detail-oriented while working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Ability to travel approximately 1-2 weeks each year
