The Senior Graphic Designer plays a significant role in the ideation and creation of brand identity, packaging, apparel artwork, and brand communication tools for Zumiez owned and licensed product and acts as a leader within the Graphic Design team. Our ideal candidate has a proven background in layout, branding, packaging design, and creative team management.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

- Lead and manage creative within a fast-paced and collaborative environment ensuring all work is produced on time while prioritizing projects as needed
- Work closely with Design Director on building effective brand guides for Zumiez owned and licensed brands
- Develop and maintain Zumiez owned and licensed brand tools to create brand clarity across the design, buying, and merchandising teams
- Responsible for managing the creative direction, design, calendar and approvals for Zumiez owned and licensed brand identity & packaging
- Have up to date knowledge of apparel and accessories packaging trends
- Responsible for creating seasonal packaging & trim trend reports for the design teams
- Owns the development and execution of visual presentation materials
- Work with Design Director and Marketing to ensure proper Zumiez owned brand promotion through various channels using appropriate brand tools
- Assist in building seasonal trend themes
- Assist with apparel print and pattern artwork
- Promote continual creative improvement and actively contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability
- Manage and mentor multiple levels of the Graphic Design team to ensure progression and development
- Create and successfully implement training tools, process, and onboarding programs
- Utilize best practices to organize, store and name brand tools and trend materials

Job Requirements & Qualifications

- 7+ years of experience in Graphic Design preferred or equivalent
- Previous supervisory responsibilities preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication and team-building
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Proven presentation skills and ability to confidently speak in group settings
- Ability to remain detail-oriented while working in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills, strong time management, organizational and communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Able to articulate ideas clearly in written and verbal form in individual and group settings
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Ability to travel approximately 1-2 weeks each year
