Pearl Izumi, based in Louisville, CO (Boulder area), is seeking a Vice President of Product.

General Purpose:
The Vice President of Product will act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and take a professional and entrepreneurial approach in all areas of the product arena. This role will have direct responsibility for the Pearl Izumi Apparel Development, Merchandising, Design, and Footwear teams, and will take an approach heavily influenced by brand-right product development and consumer insights. This position works to create and lead the development strategies and vision consistent with the objectives of making Pearl Izumi the dominant Ride and Tri apparel and footwear brand.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead all product plans across all product categories, with a laser focus on brand vision alignment and team development.
• Integrate the product and innovation dimensions into the fabric of the company; develop and cultivate essential working relationships between sales, marketing, and operations.
• Partner with the President and executive team to deliver financial results.
• Partner with the Directors of Apparel and Footwear to drive the development process and calendar, while striving for product leadership and consistent quality.
• Demonstrate an ability to grow within the organization and focus on talent as an imperative, looking for opportunities to hire and develop individuals who can elevate the organization.
• Develops, maintains and communicates cross functionally the strategic apparel and footwear plans that are linked to annual budgets.
• Build a robust product road map, including establishing a cadence for product extensions,upgrades of existing products, and new-to-market products.
• Focus on consumer insights / trends to best pinpoint resources while not inhibiting pace of innovation.
• Drive understanding of Manufacturing Excellence within the Development team, by supporting and managing vendor relationships, helping facilitate negotiations and final price confirmations and details.
• Ability to ensure development excellence in managing brand image, premium quality and attention to detail.
• Ability to deliver products to meet FOB targets with a focus on improving gross margin.
• Create an environment of innovation by identifying new technologies, from connected product to best in class product enhancements.
• Creates processes and metrics to identify and measure top styles that drive margin.
• With support from the Director of Merchandising, and Director of Footwear, drive the development process and calendar, consistently striving for product leadership and consistent quality.
• Ability to review business by category and make recommendations to drive results seasonally, annually, and long term.
• Stay current on latest trends in Ride and Tri sports, color, fashion, fabric and technological advancements in the industry and beyond.
• Plan travel, when appropriate with cross-functional teams to promote consumer/market knowledge.
• International travel required.
