Overview of role:

The primary focus of this position is to oversee PEARL iZUMi’s logistics process – right place, right product, right time, and right price. This includes transportation management, customs documentation, duty drawback, reconciliation, shipment approvals, commercial documentation, RFQs, KPIs and reporting.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Manage and audit all shipment related tasks, i.e. arrangements of shipments, approvals, on time deliveries, documentation
Shipment accuracy and coordination between internal teams (Operations, Finance, Distribution)
Ensure information flow between systems, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and vendors is effective
Manage and communicate shipment delays/exceptions, including resolution
Set measurements for all areas related to transportation including volume, rates, frequency, global routing, time to market, and impact on company margins.
Tracking of shipments through reporting and update company leadership on shipping metrics
Establish new lanes and process per PEARL iZUMi sourcing needs
Improve efficiency of lead-times by maximizing shipping methods, defining process flows for each step of the logistics process & drive cost reduction to all areas of freight
Work with PEARL iZUMi customs broker to define requirements, establish protocol and standards for all import and export requirements
Approve and audit all freight invoices
Ensure that all documentation is correct and maintained in the proper manner to be compliant including the audit of entry packets
Make effective 3PL partnership decisions that align with company goals
Track and report/present on KPIs
Maintain competitive freight cost per unit by lane/factory/category
Onboard and maintain finished goods manufactures use of the online booking tool
Manage vendor relationships with 3PLs and/or brokers
Ensure the continuous flow of goods, accounting for delays, market challenges, etc.
Provide insight to the department on inbound shipments, market updates, etc.
Support with analytics on outbound freight

Job Qualifications:

B.A./B.S. degree preferred
4+ years in a field requiring business analytics
Strong mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills; including ability to think and plan strategically related to logistical execution
Proactive thinking, initiative and composure in a fast paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication; Strong organizational skills
Familiar with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and Adhoc report building
Robust understanding of ocean, air and trucking transportation fundamentals
Must be able to manage 3PL relationships and contracts
Must be able to audit and manage freight spend including invoice approval
Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple levels of reporting
Ability to conduct RFQ and freight bids
Familiar with optimization practices and maintaining and interpreting KPIs
Comprehensive freight consolidation practices
Familiar with booking tools and EDI
