The Director of Distribution is responsible for leading the DC operations teams in support of service delivery, safety, efficiency, and process control within the facilities and is accountable to both internal and external customers in pursuit of the stated business objectives. The scope of the role covers operational flow leveraging people, process, automation, systems, and analytics in several different facilities across North America (US and Canada).

Primary Duties ! Direct daily operations including workflow scheduling, monitoring of productivity and quality, process troubleshooting, and all other activities required to ensure on-time deliveries and exceptional customer service.
! Directly or indirectly supervise managers, supervisors, hourly, and clerical employees in multiple distribution centers.
! Strategically evaluate all aspects of the business, including operational efficiency improvements and long-range labor needs based upon sales forecasts to respond in a proactive and appropriate fashion while ensuring compliance to established standards and achieving overall Brand objectives.
! Serves as an in-house expert on all aspects of warehousing: storage and handling methods, space planning and warehouse layouts, loading/unloading, standard practices, procedures, and policies.
! Recommends, implements, and champions warehouse performance and cost improvement initiatives.
! Coaches and educates DC managers and third parties as needed on warehouse operations.
! Develops and maintains productive teams through professional development by effectively administering policies, practices, and labor contracts (if applicable).
! Oversight of maintenance department to ensure a preventive maintenance program is in place as well as an ongoing maintenance program that limits downtime, damage, and accidents.
! Facilitates the selection of contract services, service agreements, and monitoring of vendor performance.
! Responsibly allocates and accounts for the use of fiscal resources, weighing alternatives and their benefits.
! Monitors budget usage and ensures critical costs are covered. Seeks ways to reduce costs.
! Performs duties consistent with the Companys AAP/EEO goals and policies.
! Performs other duties as required/assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required ! Bachelor's degree required in Business, Supply Chain, and /or Engineering
! 10+ years or more of related experience in the Distribution, Warehousing, and/or Manufacturing, Transportation, and Supply Chain Logistics industry.
! 5+ years or more of management experience with direct reports required
! Critical/ Innovative Thinking: Ability to formulate conclusions and recommendations using facts and data, business analysis, deductive reasoning, and sound judgment. Possess tangible examples of the use of supply chain innovations to solve simplistic and or complicated problems.
! Relationships - Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, workgroups, customers, supervisors) and external services providers.
! Effective interpersonal skills, build and managing effective teams, systems, and change implementation skills, strong verbal and written communication skills
! Process Improvement Ability to challenge current processes and drive continuous improvement.
! Interpret Data Ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from technical or business material.
! Communicate Business Information Effectively communicate and present complex data (both verbally and written) to influence all levels and global audiences; helps others understand data and translate it into actionable business insights.
! Managing Multiple Priorities Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups or activities making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
! Project Management Ability to lead resources and team members providing technical or business guidance to meet project objectives.
! Knowledge of safety best practices and OSHA, MSDS, FTZ, CTPAT, and SOX Compliance

WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal distribution office environment; may be required to work in various weather and temperature conditions due to the distribution environment. 25- 50% travel may be required.
