Wolverine Worldwide’s continued success is driven by our ability to stay true to our simple mission: we empower, engage and inspire our consumers – every step of the way.   The Senior Footwear Fit Specialist is accountable for the footwear commercialization process by preparing product for production and distribution globally. This includes, but is not limited to, consistent execution of pattern engineering, proper fit, comfort, and quality standards as required by the brands across the corporation. Provide general footwear expertise to design and development teams in reviewing and recommending corrections to products at prototype and sample stage to meet footwear expectations.  Be a mentor and trainer for the PI Footwear Fit team.  Administer the workload of PI Footwear Fit team with adherence to commercialization timelines and product development calendars to meet the marketing brands business needs.  Primary Duties • Establish, achieve, and maintain fit, performance and aesthetic standards for all footwear products from last development through production.  Communicate discrepancies, corrections, and or approvals with offshore production facilities, product development and PI Footwear Fit teams, including corporate Quality Assurance, when needed.       • Leads the commercialization approval process from initial Model size (T1) fit approval at pattern level through to pre-production (T4) stages anticipating potential issues and proactively providing solutions.   • Liaison between offshore PI Commercialization teams, quality assurance, and brand development teams globally. • Subject matter expert for footwear related manufacturing, grading, and most general footwear related issues.  Be a consultant in these areas as required for the brands. • Ensures deadlines established in the critical path calendar for T1 through T4 are achieved for adopted products to enable on-time delivery. • Advise critical path owner of status ensuring timely data entry into PLM for footwear product adoption buy ready process. • Responsible for investigating all global sizing (fit) and related manufacturing issues ensuring all inquiries are properly investigated by the appropriate areas of the business in a timely manner.  Resolve discrepancies and recommend revisions required to ensure fit, comfort, quality. • Monitor material and footwear laboratory testing at each level of development when required by the brand. Initiate, facilitate and analyze laboratory testing for performance fault investigation as required by the brand. • Recommend product applicable for wear test.  Establish and conduct wear test program to ensure product adheres to all manufacturing, material performance, quality, and overall comfort requirements. • Conduct instructional session for the brands and assist in training new members of the PI Commercialization team. • Maintain an up-to-date list of fit and wear tester foot measurements. • Perform duties consistent with the company's AAP/EEO goals and policies.  • Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 7+ years experience in footwear, pattern engineering and fitting, with an understanding in the areas of manufacturing, brand level product development and commercialization.  Basic knowledge in last grading, and footwear construction is preferred. • Strong verbal and written communication, and organizational skills, computer literacy, including experience with Windows, MS Office. • Strong team player with the ability to work closely with the other members of the Product Integrity team to ensure the best quality service is given to the brands. • Ability to build strong working relationship with brand partners and fit testers.  WORKING CONDITIONS Normal office environment. Some domestic and international travel may be required.
