Wolverine Worldwide’s continued success is driven by our ability to stay true to our simple mission: we empower, engage and inspire our consumers – every step of the way.   The Vice President of Advanced Concepts is a functional expert in product development, production, and new material and component identification and creation. The role serves as the leader of all key strategic innovations initiatives and projects related to virtual innovations, new material and technology development, automation, as well as the tools and systems that support development of product across the brand portfolio. This role is responsible for driving and supporting product innovations across all brands and product categories. Primary Duties • Drives the corporate strategy in regards to R&D and Innovation. • Partners with the brands on the long-term strategy to deliver material/component/process initiatives that support the advancements of product. • Fosters an environment of shared innovations and product wins across the Wolverine Worldwide network of teams and brands. • Identifies opportunities to improve speed to market across the platform to enhance competitive advantage in the market place. • Inspires and cultivates a culture of innovation across the organization. • Responsible for the leadership and development of a team. Sets direction, aligns goals and objectives and inspires an innovative, high performing, and collaborative environment. • Investigates new, innovative sources of production and technological advancements. • Drives process improvement, systems enhancements and organizational alignment. • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to Materials, Product Development, Costing, Design, Quality, and Marketing. • Performs all other duties as requested. • Performs duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO.  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, in Materials Science, Engineering, or related field. • Minimum 10 years of experience in technology, automation, and/or virtual innovations. Related professional experience in the footwear and/or apparel industry required. • Able to influence at all levels of the organization to achieve buy in and support of strategic initiatives.• Demonstrated enthusiasm and ability to inspire as a change agent with a passion for results.• Collaborative but tenacious and resilient.• Highly focused and a clear communicator, able to work closely and communicate effectively with a variety of different internal and external partners and customers.• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team to achieve individual full potential and highest team performance.• Highly organized and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.   WORKING CONDITIONSGeneral office work environment.  Domestic and some international travel required The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills which may be required.
