As such the Director will be responsible to guide, develop and ensure that the development team understands the technology strategy and plans to meet the business objectives.

The Director will work with each business unit to define and control the overall scope and scale of projects as well as prioritize maintenance requests. This position will have the overall responsibility for managing the IT team’s delivery for eCommerce and digital marketing. Activities will encompass the full Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from project initiation and the development of business requirements through implementation and ongoing production support. This role will also be responsible for managing the applications production support and enhancements for all things direct to consumer. Finally, this role will work with the corporate digital marketing team to manage the contract and vendor relationships for the complete digital IT stack.

Essential Functions


⏵ Deliver end-to-end eCommerce solutions to clients including strategy, ecommerce and marketing platforms, customer experience and technology work streams

⏵ Drive discussions with clients regarding eCommerce solutions and create opportunities for Vista Outdoor

⏵ Lead highly skilled client and Vista Outdoor work teams throughout the project lifecycle by leveraging our approaches/frameworks and helping to ensure timely execution of project deliverables

⏵ Participate in continual development and publication of thought leadership and service offerings

⏵ Assist leaders with practice administration including resource allocation, career development of staff, and other people management decisions

⏵ Collaborating with cross-functional partners including Marketing, Merchandising and Planning to build an eCommerce strategy that delivers the channel revenue plan, while supporting and elevating the key product and marketing strategies.

⏵ Defining and executing the strategy to build customer engagement with the website by optimizing user experience and customer insights.

⏵ Use analytics to analyze and define decision-making.

⏵ Collaborating with team leads to define data gathering and information reporting that will drive results.

⏵ Synthesizing customer and business insights, and input from cross-functional teams to partner in the development of digital solutions deliverables

⏵ Help develop the overall digital enterprise, domain and integration architecture that will meet the medium- to long-term needs of the business. This will include the overall structure, logical components, and the logical interrelationships among those components

⏵ Lead a team of direct reports, vendors and enterprise partners in the delivery of digital capabilities

⏵ Leverage your digital experience to develop and deliver a multi-year digital strategy and roadmap in partnership with the business and architecture teams

⏵ Act as a change agent continually driving process improvements in both IT and the business

⏵ Advocate technology best practices that enable high performing teams with measurable key performance indicators (KPIs)

⏵ Research new technologies to optimize solutions and ensure sustainability

⏵ Prepare and manage an annual budget.

⏵ Effectively maintain external partnerships and manages performance.

⏵ Support team value by promoting teamwork within and across the organization.

⏵ Own the reliability, stability and sociability of our digital platform (systems).

Minimum Qualifications


⏵ Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, operations or a related field from an accredited college/university; MBA from an accredited college/university preferred

⏵ Over ten years’ experience in B2C, B2B and B2B2C e-commerce implementations and operations, preferably in the following industries: consumer retail, outdoor, CPG.

⏵ Deep experience in one of the following e-commerce technology platforms – Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Marketing Cloud with understanding of ERP integrations from Microsoft, and Oracle (NetSuite)

⏵ Excellent foundational skills including strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, impactful presence, compelling facilitation and presentation skills, as well as the ability to communicate using PowerPoint (ability to storyboard and create a compelling value proposition)

⏵ Ability to develop and maintain strong cross functional partnerships.

⏵ Proven ability to effectively influence to drive solutions on time and in budget.

⏵ Excellent communication and organization skills.

⏵ Ability to think strategically and provide critical analysis and risk assessment.

⏵ Strong organizational skills and project management capability.

⏵ Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities of various types and to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
