Responsibilities and Qualifications

As such, the CamelBak Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and communication within cross-functional Core Teams tasked to deliver new products to market. These products include Hard Goods (molded plastic or formed metal) and Soft Goods (sewn fabric/packs). Duties include the planning and management of approved projects by following New Product Introduction (NPI) processes, project management principles, and effective team management skills. This position will be responsible for working closely with all teams involved to achieve the outputs agreed upon in the Project Brief. The Project Manager is accountable for delivering projects on-time and at the specified quality, scope, and cost target defined within the Brief.

Position Responsibilities:

• Drive communication within cross-functional Core Teams; including schedule creation, schedule tracking, meeting coordination, publishing of meeting minutes, and assignment & tracking of action items.
• Partnering with Product Management to document and drive alignment on product go-to-market strategy, timeline, cost targets and features.
• Drive the execution of the project Brief through clear communication in and out of the Core Team with Sr. Management and extended teams
• Represent core team in bi-weekly Senior Management meetings and periodic Milestone Reviews by providing project schedule, risk, and performance updates.
• Ownership, training, and continuous improvement of the New Product Introduction Phase Gate Process.
• Ownership of product Meeting Effectiveness report out to Sr. Team and continuous process improvement
• Develop tools and best practices for project management team
• Lead informational and process review meetings with broader cross-functional managerial teams to share information and gather insight on areas of process improvement.
• Provide periodic reviews of project team member effectiveness and partner with managers on corrective actions
• Lead post-project evaluations to leverage strengths and improve the areas of weakness
• Manage shared storage locations for cross-functional product development documentation
• Maintain New Product Introduction on-board training requirements list and facilitate training with hiring managers.

Position Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in Project Management, Product Development, Engineering, or leadership role on cross-functional teams
• Technical bachelor's degree preferred. Other BS/BA degree plus relevant experience will be considered.
• Demonstrated leadership managing communication and teams strategically, operationally and technically
• Process- and detail-oriented
• Consumer Products Experience with hardgoods and softgoods, international contract manufacturing, global markets, and seasonal launches
• Experience partnering with multiple departments and stakeholders; internal, external, and international. Experience in manufacturing in Mexico and China is a plus.
• Excellent planning and project execution skills
• Strong interpersonal skills including team leadership and collaboration skills
• Strong problem recognition and critical thinking skills with aptitude for problem resolution
• Good judgment and ability to drive timely and sound decisions
• Commitment to excellence and high standards
• Ability to recognize when to escalate issues and ability to do so in a concise and timely manner
• Strong organizational skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and still meet deadlines
• Good working knowledge of Smartsheets, MS Office Pro, and Microsoft Project or other scheduling applications.

Working Environment:

Primarily works in the office in a sitting or standing position. Work can include laboratory and production environments. Computer use will range from 6-8 hours per day. Lifting up to 25 lbs. unassisted is a physical requirement. Domestic and international travel is expected at approximately 10-15% of job related activities. International trips may include weekends and could extend to 2 weeks at a time.
