Responsibilities and Qualifications

CamelBak is a world leader in hydration products for the recreational and military markets, and its employees relentlessly innovate to help drive our users to hydrate and perform at their peak. As such, our Marketing Director leads global product marketing strategy and brand communications for both the Sport/GMI and Active Lifestyle divisions for CamelBak. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this role manages global marketing strategy for the brand, ensuring consistent brand passion, positioning and messaging across all marketing channels.


⏵ Development and implementation of CamelBak’s Brand strategy.

⏵ Developing the marketing strategy for new and existing products

⏵ Overseeing implementation of the Marketing strategy - including campaigns, advertising, digital marketing, and PR.

⏵ Work closely with product management team to deliver world-class marketing materials and programs.

⏵ Manage social media presence and direct programs to improve social media reputation and recognition.

⏵ Manage worldwide events and tradeshows with the appropriate activation tools needed for success

⏵ Leading brand and communications teams that work closely with the company’s Sales team; enabling them to meet their commercial objectives by providing them with appropriate tools, materials and presentations

⏵ Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends

Primary Responsibilities


⏵ Product Marketing - leads the development of product campaigns and messaging that supports the overall brand positioning and helps deliver revenue growth targets annually. Oversees product marketing for both Sport & Government, Military, Industrial as well as Active Lifestyle product divisions.

⏵ Work closely with VP of marketing to develop 3-year and annual marketing priorities, plans and budgets to support business goals. Responsible for managing the execution of annual plans with team.

⏵ Team with directors of product management to prioritize product stories and communicate them passionately through relevant marketing channels.

⏵ Working with product management and using consumer insights provide strategic direction on messaging priorities for packaging, collateral, marketing needs.

⏵ Involvement and participation with core teams to communicate marketing perspective, milestones, deliverables, etc.

⏵ Provide strategic vision and career development for marketing managers, building a collaborative team across the marketing organization.


⏵ International Marketing - provide strategic guidance for international marketing to ensure athletes, events, advertising are on-brand and consistent globally


⏵ Lead the Creative Services team to ensure brand message, vibe, and stories are compelling and consistent across all key touch points


⏵ Partner closely with marketing channel leads including:
o Retail & Tradeshow Marketing: develop consistent product messaging in all collateral, trade show booths, retail display signage, event signage
o Events/Promotions: promote relevant products and messaging at events


⏵ Produce and manage product marketing budgets, ensuring programs are delivered on time and on budget.


⏵ Oversee successful events and tradeshows to ensure they align with the CamelBak brand and have a positive ROI

Qualifications


⏵ Proven track record of strategic thinking and creative marketing initiatives and significant experience evaluating strategy and creative work

⏵ Successful candidate will have experience marketing to multiple consumer target audiences, preferably in the outdoor industry and lifestyle markets as well as various distribution channels from specialty to mass.

⏵ Excellent communication skills – written, oral, visual

⏵ Demonstrated ability to lead marketing teams to create and execute creative and effective marketing programs, with demonstrated ROI

⏵ Experience creating strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners as well as outside agencies

⏵ Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

⏵ Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

⏵ Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

⏵ Good judgment and business acumen with the ability to make timely and sound decisions

Knowledge


⏵ Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

⏵ Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, etc.. is preferred

Degree/Certificates


⏵ Bachelor’s degree required

⏵ MBA preferred

Job Experience Required


⏵ 7 – 10 years of progressive marketing experience

⏵ 5+ years of management experience

Working Environment:
Primarily works in the office in a sitting or standing position. Work can include laboratory and production environments. Computer use will range from 6-8 hours per day. Lifting up to 25 lbs. unassisted is a physical requirement. Domestic and international travel is expected at approximately 10-15% of job related activities. International trips may include weekends and could extend to 2 weeks at a time.
