JOB DESCRIPTION
PJ Salvage is a contemporary lifestyle brand specializing in women’s sleepwear, loungewear and accessories. We are located in Orange County and currently seeking an experienced Product Developer to add to our team. Candidate will oversee all development activity for the seasonal lines and product development from design hand–off through sales sample evaluation and into pre-production. You must be detail oriented in the development process and ensure that each product meets design, fit, margin, and quality requirements.
POSITION SUMMARY
• Coordinate collection pass off from design team to technical design. Ensuring design intent is maintained while understanding technical execution challenges and resolving concerns. Attend fittings through pre-production approval.
• Manage the development process with overseas factories for all product associated with the brand. Including new fabric development, and approvals of all lab dips, strike offs, trims, etc. from proto through TOP production.
• Manage fabric sourcing requests from design and work directly with the mills on development and required testing of quality and color.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with all teams throughout the development process and into production. Ensuring that quality is maintained as well as deadlines are met in a timely fashion.
• Manage costing and negotiations for cost improvement opportunities to meet margin goals.
• Create and maintain sample and development WIP charts to ensure garments arrive on calendar.
• Manage daily communication with international factories and vendors
• Manage and distribute tech teams workload and coordinate PD/Tech meetings weekly
• Prepare and manage packages to international factories
• Coordinate, manage and ship all bulk SMS to national and international sales reps and distributors
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Extremely well organized self-starter with the ability to multi-task as well as prioritize work load.
• Deadline oriented with ability to manage and adhere to calendars.
• A proactive problem solver who is comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Must have import and private label experience
• Working knowledge of costing and negotiations
• Strong knowledge of Mircrosoft Excel and Outlook
• Adobe Illustrator knowledge a plus.
• Minimum 5+ years experience in Product Development
