Position objective:
This position is responsible for the managing of product development from post concept to finished good and life cycle. Responsible for developing innovative and complementary products that meet or exceed internal quality standards, design intent, and margin targets that are in line with the company’s growth plan. Must have an understanding of sourcing and manufacturing to support effective product life cycle management.


The Product Development Manager will work closely and collaboratively with peers in the company and has the responsibility to oversee and manage the Product Development team.

• Report to Senior Management team
• Manage a team of 2-5 team members
• Maintain a documented system of procedures following best practices
• Oversee Product Development operations.
• Coordinate functions to achieve the company’s growth plans
• Product Life cycle management
• Develop and maintain vendor/designer/sourcing relationships
• Build and maintain inter-departmental relationships
• Provide information and material support to sales and marketing development

Product Planning & Management:

• Manage the development process and product life cycle to meet company, brand, and channel objective for
complete product offering.
• Conduct product performance analysis including sku-level sales and margin productivity; identify improvement opportunities
• Deliver product performance updates and presentations
• Collaborate with department director on annual budget for product development department
• Adapt product development plans to address shifting needs and opportunities
• Map and calendar product execution in coordination with overall PD GTM and company calendar.
• Assist in planning/development/implementation of product line execution for all Chums sales and marketing
initiatives.
• Margin Enhancement: Work with Accounting, Manufacturing, and Sales departments to develop a complete and
accurate documentation of specific product costing including BOMs and FOB pricing.
• Develop and maintain inventory cost accounting strategies
• Demonstrate understanding of sales, margins, inventory turn management
• Work with Manufacturing to improve manufacturing efficiencies where possible
