About the job

The WOM manages all warehouse activities and is ultimately responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse. Departments under the WOM’s direction and scope of responsibility are Order Fulfillment, Receiving, Customization, Work Cell, and FG & RM Inventory, Logistics. This position will communicate with all departments/divisions, ensure the accurate and timely processing of all goods/materials both shipped from and received into the facility, work directly with and provide support for the Logistics Coordinator, Order Fulfillment supervisor, Work Cell and Customization supervisors, reports directly to the COO and is accountable to peer management team. In a nutshell the WOM is a putter-outer of fires, a provider of rapid response answers, and a proactive team development and efficiencies guru.

• Ultimately responsible for the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of all orders/materials leaving or entering facility
• Provide training, direction, motivation and support for the logistics coordinator, the customization, order fulfillment, and work cell supervisors and other direct reports
• Manages and schedules both cyclic and annual inventory for facility
• Effectively communicates with all other departments/divisions
• Ensures all warehouse functions are attended to within set safety standards
• Assist direct reports in developing their teams baseline metrics, goals, efficiencies, and teamwork
• Maintain familiarity with all applicable employment laws
• Negotiates with vendors and business partners to keep costs in line with company goals
• Develops and maintains positive and beneficial partnerships with vendors and internal teams
• Proactively attacks departmental inefficiencies
• Provides solutions to challenges keeping in line with company goals

• Manages facility safety programs and maintains appropriate OSHA documentation

• Communicates company goals and important information to direct reports and ensures it’s further communication to front line team members
• Relentlessly strives for improvement in all operations
• Vets and qualifies all production contractors
• Assists in developing operations budget and ultimately accountable for performance to budget
• Provides direction and holds direct reports accountable to their individual budgets
• Responsible for keeping all warehouse operations running smoothly and efficiently
• Provide timely and meaningful performance reviews for direct reports
• Provide timely & accurate record of payroll time for bi-weekly payroll processing

- Shipping – Supervisor

- Production – Supervisor

• Act as back up for all direct reports
• Maintain metrics on goals met, errors made and items of challenge and recognition
• Prepare and present annual SWOT, budget and team analysis
• Maintain organized files
• Assists with cycle counting and inventory
• Maintaining a clean and orderly work area
• Wear proper safety equipment and follow all safety protocols

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree/equivalent experience
• Must be able to read and write English fluently
• Experience with and working knowledge of operations and management concepts, practices and procedures
• Ability to write documents such as safety rules, SOPs, procedure manuals, sales orders, & shipping documents
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards, processing and reporting
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to analyze vast data sets
• Superior organizational and time management abilities
• Excellent computer skills
• Demonstrate proven leadership ability
• Lead by example

• Training/Education required: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree/equivalent

Experience required: 5-7 years progressive experience in leadership roles


Technical Skills required:

• Excellent knowledge of carrier requirements, software and its uses
• Must be familiar with basic employment law principles and practices
• Must maintain familiarity with current vendor/carrier contract details to assist and make cost saving recommendations
• Excellent computer skills, including Sage and proficiency with all Microsoft Office products
• Advanced Excel is preferred for reports and analyzing
